Honestly, you are going to need to take a lot more than a month off if you want to see very many places. There are tours of Europe that sometimes take 28 days. And as the others have mentioned earlier, it is going to be very expensive.

Depending on your age, this is what I would do...

Decide which parts of the world that you really want to see.

Each year, take two weeks off to explore one of these areas of the world.

It might take you 10 or 15 years to make all these trips, but at least you get to experience each of these areas in depth.

One more suggestion... if you are interested in seeing areas that are a less "Westernized" and developed (Africa, India, etc.), I would do those trips while you are younger. Save trips like Europe and Japan until you are older. Your spouse (or future spouse, if you are not married) may not necessarily share an interest in traveling to more exotic locations, so get those out of the way sooner. When you are younger, your body is better able to handle the demands of travel to exotic places (heat, lots of walking and climbing, strange foods, etc.).

It's an expensive trip, you need to save a lot of money. Keep in mind that you will also be gone for a month or so, you need to have a job that will allow that (not many do hence the reason many take these trips later in life).

Unless you really have those two things in place you don't need to do a lot of planning at this stage. Just try to figure out the places you want to visit and the things you want to see in the mean time.

Tell everyone you know to be as rude and disrespectful to you as they can. That will prepare you for every country you go to.
