Michael, I'm with you. I use small shops as much as possible, but I'm writing something on supermarkets and wanted an idea of why people use them. Seems most people here want cheap food, regardless of any other considerations, yet every study shows small shops are cheaper. Oh well, thanks for all the feedback folks

ASDA, because it's cheap, it's got a nice atmosphere, it's close, they've always got special offers on, they do great clothes and the items with the yellow "whoops!!" stickers always bag you a great bargain. And the food is really tasty!

Even though my partner works for Tesco and can get 10% off, I hate shopping there because the staff are horrible (apart from my other half of course!), the food is disgusting and it's so over priced.

I shop at Piggly Wiggly because it is close to my house. It is not the cheapest but they do have good sales. Once in a while I will drive across town to Walmart super center but I don't like to shop there because I always end up spending too much money and have way more than I need.

I enjoy shopping at tesco, I like the taste of the tesco brands which in the main are on a par to branded names although I am not keen on alot of their value stock, the store is not the nearest or cheapest but definitely the nicest.

My mom always shopped at Albertsons (west coast) or Kroger (midwest), but now that my husband is in the military, we shop mostly at the commissary on-base. On base, we get everything tax free so it's great for the basic stuff. Where we live though, the commissary's considerably smaller than my husband's last duty station. So for extra things or more specialty items, we head to Albertsons.

I like Tesco's because its cheap and normally has lots of good offers. I go to Sainsbury's sometimes too (especially for cream cakes!). I'm not keen on Morrison's as they don't always stock everything I like. There is no Asda near me, but if there was one, I'd probably go there instead as I think they are even cheaper and they do a good home/clothes section!

My favourite supermarket is Waitrose, but I can't afford to shop there once a week so I tend to go to Sainsbury's because it is near and i feel it has much better quality food than Tesco.

For convenience it has to be m&s

For variety and price TEscos

Asda on many items are cheaper and have a different set of goods but alot of the basic grocery items are as if not more expensive than Tesco

I like Sainsbury's, I think it has the best value for money. It's not necessarily the cheapest but the food is good. It's the nearest and nicest as well.
