Grandiosity is a term often employed in psychology & psychiatry to describe feeling more important or wise than the evidence would indicate. It is a symptom of delusional thinking, is often associated with either a manic episode or with a narcissistic personality, and interferes with accurate perceptions, effective problem solving, and interpersonal relationships.
And for the answerer above, it is a real word and found in many dictionaries.

It's the felt need for self-aggrandizement, for making yourself seem more important than you are, and your actions of greater impact than they are.
The problem is that people who live outside the self-aggrandizer's world can see the difference between the reality and their boastful talk and attitudes. Boastfulness and self-aggrandizement, tend to be rooted in insecurity, the need to announce one's own greatness to the world. But those who are truly doing great things don't usually need to announce the fact!
One of the problems that it causes is that it can alienate people who either get tired of hearing about the person's "exploits" or decide that, since the reality is so different from their view of it, the person is a liar.
Some people do this out of poor self-image, while for others it's indicative of deeper personality problems.
Overcoming it requires the person to be honest with themselves, and admit they have a problem...which is difficult as these people sometimes really do think they're top banana in a world full of morons! A healthy reality check is what they need, and to find their security in life in something outside themselves, such as a religious faith or philosophy, that can give them a base of self-worth.
Some people can only be helped by therapy but there again, they have to recognise the problem, which is part of the problem!!

Grandiosity is not a word.
Grandiose, what I assume you are attempting to reference, means something that is overly large and impressive. Productions with to large a budget tend to be grandiose, and so spectacular that much of the meaning can be lost. Things on a Grandiose scale are flashy, but often lacking in substance.

A symptom of an over inflated ego, and part of a psychological illness.
It is not healthy for anyone to believe they are great, grand, better than others, having a healthy self belief is something quite different.
