Not just boys but girls do too. I guess it's like putting yourself out there and then thinking the worse could happen. If you put all this effort into something, you don't want it to blow up in your face, so getting your hopes up for a girl and then having her reject you can be a real downer.
That's why you should just go with the flow so nothing gets out of hand in you head and you don't think every move you make you look like an idiot. Don't over think anything so you don't get nervous. Relax and just think what's the worse she can do? Say no? It might be a little blow to the heart, but soon you'll find someone actually worth your time and emotions.
