Many Americans find the British English accent kind of interesting and hypnotizing. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't HELP you land a job.
That, and a serious card to play with American females. They love accents.

First off, it depends if you have wiskers or own that breast. The latter will land you work pretty much anywhere (less any facial hair). Mind you, a British speaking feline can certainly get you some TV time...
Don't worry about it, us North Americans are suckers for accents from over the pond. Those annoyed need to get laid.

"Any other British pronunciation traits that Americans would find annoying?"
those darn british purposely miss-pronounce any word they can to be different from u.s. english. i suppose if you really need to use brit english in the usa i hope you do not include that innocent dumb look brits include after knowingly saying something really out there in left field. just remember we kicked their *** once and we can do it again and also keep in mind during WW2 we could have waited a few more weeks and we would not be having this problem we have today

Speaking as a Brit, I think the language originated over here. What is there to find annoying about it? You could argue though that other countries who do not speak it correctly might be annoying, not that I'd ever suggest that of course! ;-)

some Americans like accents. as long as we can understand you, an accent is not a big deal. learn slang expressions used in the US, so you know what we're talking about. talk slowly so we know what you're talking about. you should have no problem finding a job because of your accent.
