These are valid statements. I think that if we started to answer these people with this type of ignorant responses they would think we are crazy. But, they do think we are crazy anyway. All of us miss the most important thing about christians and that is the fact that from the time they were small they have been brainwashed and programmed to believe this stuff.
I wonder if they wonder where atheist's and agnostic's come from? I myself was a good chirstian for over 20 years. I myself have read the bible 4 times and I do not personnally know many preachers in my area that have read it that many times cover to cover, no jumping all the way through. And yet they think we are all crazy and mistaken.
My path away from religion began when I started to read things like science books, other religions, other civilizations, listened to the guys that build rockets and send them up in space tlak about how old the universe and the plant is. I started to wonder if this religion could be wrong.
I went to the preacher and he told me not to worry of such things. What he meant was do not educate your mind. The bible says it is better to have the mind of a child and that is the goal of religion to have a mass of ignorant fools running around obeying and listening to everything the preacher tells them.
While I think it is possible that something created all of this I know that it can not now nor anytime in their near future be proven to exsist at all so right now the god thing is just a hypothesis and nothing more, might not even be a hypothesis maybe just an induction but this one is hard to say.
But, you are never going to get these people to listen to you. They have to want to be educated and have an open mind. But, humans would much rather have someone telling them what the truth is as opposed to finding out answers for themselves. If you continue to beat your head against the wall talking with these people you are only going to have a sore head. THey will never open their minds and you should just recommend books to them maybe they will read them a spark their interest otherwise if all they know is what the preacher says they will be a flock of sheep that follow the lead ram off the cliff of oblivian.

1) If evolution were truely a fact there would be the inbetween stages of us evolving.
2) Maybe, maybe not. If there were turely common ancestery, then why do we look so different than monkies?
3) If God is fake, how do you explain healings that doctors can't explain?
4) To be evil is human. We have a book that show us how to be more Christ like in our actions.
5) How do you prove scientifically something that you believe? To me there is no proof that evolution is a fact and to you there is no proof that God is real.
6) You may not believe in God, but He still loves you.
7) I know that God is real by just looking outside. Nature was no accident.
8) Just because someone says something doesn't mean it's true. I believe that the Bible is true because it's Gods word.

1. The fact we're here does not prove evolution is correct. You have flawed logic. 2. So? They have similar bone structures, thats all... Maybe god made it that way? 3. Go ahead, feel that way. If on the "off chance" god IS real, I'm safe. Are you? 4. So? You have a moral code that tells you not to be evil. Guess where the origins of the western "moral code" comes from... The bible. Don't be a moron please. 5. How could I? How could YOU believe in evolution? Its just a theory. What do you have to gain from believing in evolution? Nothing! What do you have to gain from believing in God? Pretty much the insurance policy that you will NOT go to hell if he does actually exist. 6. Pfft toothfairy DOES exist, I saw her once! 7. See, you've been saved by the toothfairy. All bow down to the fairy-godess of teeth.

Its wrong to tell Christians not to think the way they do. I'm agnostic...ie sitting on the fence because I know WE all know diddly squat.
1. Evolution is a fact because we're here.
Evolution is a fact because science has proven that every life form develops BUT it doesnt prove HOW or why...ie whether the DNA or RNA is a direct link for modern man from monkeys.
2. The proof that monkeys and humans have a common ancestry is human's existence.
Yes they might but again.....its a huge leap. How do we know for sure that aliens didnt interfere with the structures?
3. I know God is fake because I feel it in my heart.
You know in your heart that A God is not around because its not a visible and quantifiable thing for anyone and never has been. A child or prophet of GOD doesnt count. You know that people have been afraid of nature, living/dying without purpose...a need within to find some sort of reason for being here and for what happens to everyone and everything around you. You know there is an inbuilt survival mechanism for you not to die.
4. Christians have to be evil because they need a book to tell them not to be evil.
All people have evil/good within...some have frontal lobe defects like OCD or schitzophrenia that make them believe weird stuff. Those that have been brought up badly (abused/unloved/brainwashed) to embrace negative things...like suicide missions, hatred of other creatures. No people need a book to tell them not to be bad. Good people need to tell the others not to be bad....but it never works because inherent goodness and badness is genetic/sociopathic/survival mechanism in situ.
5. How could you believe in God? IT'S JUST A THEORY
(This is what Christians say about evolution)
Its a need. Even for tribal folks who never heard of God....they need gods to understand that they are not fully in control of their own lives. To pray alleviates some of the burden...its an escape.
6. You may not believe in the tooth fairy but she still loves you.
Yes....the tooth fairy is great when you need something to explain why baby teeth fall out...and they will be replaced by adult teeth. Kids are scared when their teeth fall out...like they did something wrong. Parents help them overcome that by giving it magical appeal.......just as adult human fears may be overcome by giving another magical figure (God) superiority over them.
7. I know the tooth fairy's real. Someone smacked me in the mouth and my teeth didn't fall out. She saved me.
That is linked to Q6....but Im glad your teeth didnt fall out. Wouldnt have made much difference because if your folks can afford a computer Im sure they could also afford dentistry to replace the gappy smile.
8. I know evolution is true because the evolution book said so.
Its true...DNA has proven it. It doesnt help because origins of each species is still unknown. What we do know is that some earth clans do not evolve very much......and its curious as to why that is. Adam and Eve apparently were black and came from Africa. There are no blacks or cafe latte elsewhere in the world BUT were in Australia....but there is no apparent link between Africa and Australia for years. Certainly no monkeys in Oz ever.
Do Christians believe in aliens...because any "God" would have to be alien to the earth...and if developed may be the link to the weird human development that has happened.
YOU are not an athiest...and NOBODY is for that matter. YOU dont know for SURE, no-one does. Some that have strong beliefs without any real proof......hearsay, books, culture/upbringing which is tantamount to brainwashing of babies, anger/love/fear.....that miss the point of being human...same animal, same worries.

There is a huge difference here! Most of what you are saying is just silly. A chicken exists so does it mean that it is related to a kangaroo? They both exist. Evolution has not yet been proven. According to Darwins standards evolution does not exist on a large scale. Every time people set out to prove evolution all they do is disprove it. The fact that you feel the need to argue so much about whether or not God exists is because it is something you are really struggling with.

I'm not a Christian myself; however, I don't understand exactly what good this would do, except to close the lines of communication between yourself and the person you would be discussing religious matters with.
Just because others are disrespectful, doesn't mean you need to be; else you just prove in their eyes that you -are- a heathen. Instead, why not have civilized discourse with people who are our brothers, if not in Christianity, then in humanity?

check out the truth project:
Testing Carl Sagan's Statement – "Evolution is a fact amply demonstrated by the fossil record and contemporary molecular biology."
Contemporary Molecular Biology – testing Darwin's statement that his theory would absolutely break down if it could be demonstrated that a complex organism could not come into existence without numerous, successive slight modifications
In the 19th century, the cell was viewed as a simple glob of plasma, a black box; today, micro technology reveals a cell filled with exquisite machinery
Irreducible complexity – The cell cannot exist if one component of the machinery is missing – Examples: mouse trap and the flagellum motor
It is in the realm of molecular genetics where we see the most compelling evidence of design on earth – evolution fails Darwin's test
The fossil record – testing Darwin's statement that if one can't find all of the fine, graduated evolutionary steps in the fossil record, then one can rightly reject the theory
If speciation requires many thousands of morphological changes, there should be some fossil evidence of those changes – Darwin agreed they weren't there, but only because we hadn't dug up enough fossils
120 years after Darwin's time we have a lot more fossil evidence than he did, but we have even less support for his evolutionary theories
Theory of punctuated equilibrium – offered by evolutionist Gould because of the lack of evidence in the fossil record; purports immediate speciation to account for the missing links
Icons of Evolution – used for years as "proof" of evolution – all are inaccurate and outdated
Theory of directed panspermia – purports that the first living cell was sent to earth from another planet – offered by Crick because evidence was overwhelmingly against spontaneous generation
Evolution again fails Darwin's own test
Lovtrup: "I believe that one day the Darwinian myth will be ranked the greatest deceit in the history of science"

Can you show me the tooth fairy book? Can you show me the evolution book? We have every right to have an argument regarding evolution as you definately have an argument against God and creationism. Do you know how silly YOU sound to us? Think about it. Do you want us to just shut up and agree with you? It aint gonna happen. Live and let live.

I don`t think you are to get many converts with this one. It`s important to remember that the vast majority of Christians are not evangelists but just ordinary folk. If religion helps them through life fine. I find the whole supernatural man in the sky thing ludicrous but as wacky doctrines go it`s not nearly as much lunacy as Patriotism. Patriotism is the wierd and wacky equation that makes the life of one American worth the lives of 100,000 Iraqi or Iranian children
