Jesus' entire message was about love. Love for everyone. Nonjudgmental unconditional love. Therefore, I think his message to devout atheists would still be one of love - if not love for him, and love for the God he claims to represent, then at least love for the common man.

I believe, that were Jesus here today and chose to speak to the masses - of all the various religions - he would sit down with a guitar and begin to sing John Lennon's 'Imagine'. And I can't think of a message I'd much more like to hear from a divine being than that.

If a person is a devout Athiest, then there is nothing Christ could say. In other words, you can't give a message to someone who won't listen. Ask any parent of young children.

The anti-christ guy above is just as bad as the devout christians he so dislikes. I'm sure Jesus, the man, would say that he loves atheists. He loved all the sinners. Unlike his followers, Jesus accepted the beliefs of people who didn't believe in him although he did his best to convince them to follow the "way of god" or whatever. I'm not religious by the way but I was well schooled as a child.

First: there is no such thing as a "devout" atheist, since that word comes from the word "devotion" (adherence to, honoring of something or someone). Atheism is more a LACK of belief than devotion to it.

Second: since I don't believe Jesus was around, nor that he lives on as a god, he can't say ANYTHING!

Third: If he confronted atheists while alive, I imagine he'd treat them much the same as he did the corrupt priests in that famous temple story; with nastiness and violence...just like most Xtians do NOW!

Jesus's most important message was a refutation of some of the garbage you find in the Old Testament, though most Christians don't see it that way.

Some books in the Old Testament are vile. For example, the Book of Proverbs states over and over again that good things happen to good people and bad things happen to bad people. (Interestingly, the Book of Job argues against this, making it a sort of proto-Christian message.)

Jesus says otherwise, saying not to condemn the poor. "Blessed are the poor" does not mean it's good to be poor, but it *does* mean that being poor does not mean you're a bad person.

The message of the cross is the same to all. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God didn't send his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world, through him, might be saved.
