Hello all... I am female, 195.5 pounds, 5'4, and 19 years old. I would like to lose 60 pounds and get down to 135 lbs. I have joined a gym and I have been going for a fw days already doing lots of cardio.
In terms of diet, I've basically cut out white flour and eating minimal wheat, when I need to... everything else is protein, lean meat, and veggies. But, I've already been doing this diet for a week and I've only lost half a pound.
Any suggestions.
Today is June 5th. I would like to have all this weight off by September/October.
Help?!
I welcome as many answers as possible.

I have tried several of the leading diet brands and the one I had the best results with was with Shapeworks/Herbalife. I have used Slimfast, Jenny Craig, Hoodia and a few more but they were either not great in terms of results or cost too much anyway and didn’t do my health any favors. With the shapeworks you get a personal coach who guides you through all your weight loss and ensures you stay on track and improve your health at the same time. The system is nutrition based and very easy to follow and the products taste good too. I used the advanced program and not only did I lose lots of weight and inches but my energy levels were great, I was never hungry or tired and there is no counting calories or points. The coach does all the work for you, all you have to do is take the products every day and the weight just comes off. I needed to lose 42 pounds and I lost all my weight in less than five months, I also lost over nine inches off my waist and lots of inches from my thighs and arms. I used the help of the guy at www.myhealthabc.com, he is excellent with his advice and coaching. There is no sales pitch or anything like that, which makes it even better. He just listens to what you want to do, asks you some questions and its as easy as that. I got free samples to try before buying anything, I just paid a small shipping and handling fee (think it was about ten dollars) and the samples were so good I just knew this was for me. The whole experience was terrific, the support and encouragement you receive is the best, plus the advice on all aspects of your weight loss and general health. My family were pretty unhelpful when it came to me losing weight so I would definitely recommend this for anyone who wants to lose weight safely, quickly with no side effects and receive encouragement along the way. I have also been shown how to maintain my new weight, which again is so easy and love the way I look and feel now. This worked well for me and I am sure it can for anyone, my sister has just started with a different program and has lost seven pounds in her first three weeks. I hope this helps.

Heloo, I'm Marianna, 23 years old when I was your age I was weighting 170 pounds and now I'm weighting 110 pounds, and I lost 70 pounds in 4 month.
What I did is nothing else but having natural fruit juices at the morning and run every morning for 30 - 50min. At lunch salads without dressing and chicken, tuna or meet. And at the nights another salad or fruit.
Keep eexercicing and eating healthy that is going to help you a lot, but don't quit. You have to give it time is not going to happend in one week.
Good luck.

Healthy weight loss is usually 1-2lbs per week so you are on the right track. Gradual weight loss is much healthier then quick weight loss. It is also permanent in most cases. I would also recommend that you check out this book:
Ask the Nutritionists (Paperback)
by George Rapitis (Author),
It is filled with healthy recipes and helpful nutrition tips.
Good Luck!

hi, losing weight takes time but when you're really comitted to it it takes less. I would advice u to cut down on junk foods as well as the other things u stop eating. Another tip is to drink alot of water and when u are exercising u should try really hard and not play around or give up. U should take atleast 20 minutes a day spending on exercise and atleast half an hour relaxing cause the body needs rest when it had been working. Oh, another thing eat alot of fruits.

find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

You're definitely doing the right thing by watching what you eat + cardio. There are so many diets out there telling you what you can & cannot eat but for anyone to lose weight, every successfull "diet" accomplishes the same thing and that is burning more calories than you are consuming. A pound of fat is equal to about 3500 "extra" calories. So in order to lose one pound of fat you have to create a deficit of 3500 calories. Personally I choose not to go on these fad diets, because I don't want to feel restricted. I should be able to eat whatever I want. I just know that to lose a pound of fat, I have to create that 3500 cal. deficit.
