I am adopting this dog on Friday. He is now called Sonny, but only for a week. I would like to rename him. We are from Mississippi if that helps.

That handsome fellow looks like he's wearing a tuxedo, so I'd name him Tux.

The dog may just name himself. Usually after a few days of getting a new pet, a name comes to me. In a short time, your new pet will respond to his name. He looks like a very nice dog.

I think he looks like a Sam, Sammy, Samuel!
Thats the first name that popped into my head when I saw the picture.

Blacky, Shadow, Fluffy, Bobby, or Jester would suit him, I think. He looks very friendly and is also an eyecatcher.

???? does he already answer to his name of "sonny" you dont want to confuse him by changing the name. If he doesnt answer to his at the moment given name then you can name him whatever "fits' him
