No, dear. Science says the opposite. Christians echo what you are saying. They certainly are born that way.

Well. Pilgrim of Truth, I have to say that your question and the subsequent answers till now have been the giggle spot in my day.
Psychology is a stagnant field in which learning seems to have gone out the window about the same time they penned all the behaviorists into a padded cell and turned off the lights. I agree with many of the previous answer providers that you need to open your mind (or at least your website) and search a little deeper into the scientific research concerning homosexuality. Check out some of your history books too. This "condition" has been around for a long as people have. It is not caused by a mindset...just stop and think about our own culture seventy years ago. The United States was the epitome of good healthy straight as an arrow thinking and living. Those folks who, after years of confusion and miserable relationships, realized they were homosexual may have exerienced interal peace (or not) but they certainly didn't come out of the closet about it or even seek "psychological aid" for their "condition"., because there was a real possibility they would literally be outcast from society.
Folks really and truly are born that way, just like some are born deaf or blind; it was just a small mistake in the womb (if you must call it a mistake) and no amount of anything can "fix" it. I seriously doubt if the born deaf miss what they can't hear or the born blind what they can't see; likewise it is only the homosexual who might miss something they can't experience only because other folks insist that they should.
Please answer my question; from where do folks like you sprout?

They are not Born that way this excuse was made up so those around them would be easier accepting them because it was not their fault. Why doesn't anyone accept responsibility for what they do and where they Go instead of Blaming it always on some else or something,I know then they would have to be accountable and take responsibility for their actions and then what? Then they may find them selves a sinner in the eyes of God and begin to Repent, confess the birth of Jesus as savior and believe that as bad as they are or as good as they think they have been that Jesus loved so much he died for them and upon their confession of faith the forgiveness of the Lord they will receive and be born again into the new family of God having their past put behind and now living for the present. All sin brings forth spirtiual death. That can not be changed by man so they infeccet the world with anything goes and they reap what they sow.Yea.

Don't get your science from the Christian Science Monitor, those are not real scientists. Look for peer-reviewed scholarly literature, such as you'll find when you research the human genome project. By the way, did you notice scientists have said they may have isolated a 'gay' gene? What does your source say about that?
p.s. Psychology and biology are two different fields. One deals with a persons mental state, the other deals with the composition of its anatomy. Psychology does not explain biology, so your question has a seemingly gaping hole in it's premise.
A Psychologist may tell you that pain is a relative feeling, but a person with a broken arm will tell you there's nothing relative about their pain, it's just painful.

Says who?
It is in many other animals and there are even genes that are associated with it. Seems pretty innate to me.
Stop reading Psychology Journals from the 1950s, OK. Science is always willing to change with new evidence.

What business is it of your's. I disagree with your claim that psychology says different. You have no right to decide why or how they are gay. Leave people alone life can be hard enough without some judgemental ,small minded person spouting off. For the record straight female here.

Science didn't say anything on that, Psychology only says that it's not an illness or a choice.
But there are several fact that make think that gay are born like that, sometimes more than one gay person is present in a family, twins are often both gay.
You are not qualified to make this affirmation

Psychology is wrong. Just because they haven't found the gay GENE doesn't mean it's not true that they are born that way. I have known people that are gay for their whole lives...and you would have known they were gay right from the beginning. It isn't something that they adopted later in life. I'm thinking that you haven't read any up-to-date books on psychology.

Because idiots like you keep making false claims about what "science says".
We were born this way, and you have no clue what psychology says.

Um, my understanding is that science actually says the opposite.
Homosexuality has been shown in several different species of animals.
But if you would care to cite a source for your allegation I would be happy to consider it.
