I think it's possible to drop 20 lbs in a month, yes. I also think the chance of you putting it right back on is extremely high because you won't keep up with the eating/exercise after you hit your goal weight.

Try losing about 2 - 3 lbs a week...a program that would do that would be easy to stick with long term and when you hit your goal weight all you'd need to do is either slightly increase your calories or cut back a little on your exercise to maintain whatever weight you want to maintain.

Well since you are bigger, you'll lose weight faster. However, to lose 20 lbs in 1 month that means you have to lose 5 lbs a week, which is a lot. 1 pound equals 3500 calories. So 5 lbs equals 17500. That means that in one week, you will have to burn 17500 calories more than you consume to lose the 5 lbs. Also, you are going to burn out if you exercise that much. At least take 1 day off in the week.

A more reasonale and realistic goal is 20 lbs in 2 months. That's 2.5 pounds a week. You will lose a lot in the beginning, but it will stable off after a couple months.

There are 3500 calories in a pound of body weight. Losing 20 pounds in a month requires creating a caloric deficit 0f 70,000 calories over the month. At 30 days, this means an average daily caloric deficit of 2333. That's high to achieve by diet alone, but adding exercise can help. The amount of calories burned via exercise is dependent on the nature of the exercise, your current weight, height and your resting metabolic rate. It is an ambitious goal, but do-able.
