If you lost 30 lbs you would be 88 pounds. If you lost 40 you would be 78. Do you realize that you are already small and possibly underweight? If you lose anymore weight, you are going to look sick, be sick and possibly damage your body for life. Plus, since you are only 15, you will really hurt our body becuase you aren't allowing it to grow. If you want to be active and healthy that's okay, but you don't need to lose weight.

Okay, you weigh a 118#'s. But how tall are you? According to the health people you are considered obese if you are 20 + pounds over what would be considered your ideal weight. Remember, if you go to the other side of the scale in being to underweight, you can get very sick. You should consult your doctor and find out what your ideal weight should be. Then what ever the doctor says should be close. Do not use a scale seeing as muscle weighs more than fat. So as your fat is burned away and replaced with muscle the scale may not reflect that but your cloths will and so will your appearance!

You would be obese if you were 3'11 otherwise 118lbs for a 15 year old girl is perfect. Trust me guys don't like skinny girls, they like girls with curves in all the right places. As for swimming and running sure why not. A little exercise never hurt anyone. In fact swimming and running will perhaps tone you up a little. Just don't go overboard with it. Try swimming for a half hour every other day and you can jog two or three miles on the other days. Some weightlifting would be good too. But, as for trying to lose 30 or 40lbs you would be doing some serious harm to yourself. In fact, you would be considered anorexic or bulimic. You literally would be starving yourself. Many people die from eatting disorders every year. Just be you and don't be concerned with losing weight. The weight you are at now is ideal in fact I bet your are stunning looking so why lose weight? Stay beautiful and take care..

Are you out of your mind? No, you are not obese. Let me repeat that - YOU ARE NOT OBESE! In fact, unless you're about three feet tall, you aren't even fat. You are allowing some very nasty cultural messages to program you into self-hating and self-destructive behavior. You are fine, and should not be concerning yourself about losing weight - particularly not 30 or 40 pounds, which would leave you a skeletal wreck, which would be far less attractive than whatever you look like now.

First, you are not obese by any means but swimming does sound like a good way to stay healthy. You shouldn't be worrying about loosing weight right now you are at a very healthy weight for your age.

I Will probable say swimming/run-inning that helps a little bit, you have to work out more and go on a diet, NOTE: I'M NOT MAKING FUN OF YOU just to help you out some because I'm in the same section but I'm older then you, having all that weight on you and me it is not good for the both of us, and if you eat right that will really take place for you, cooking your food the right way is good too.

Er um, you kinda need to tell me your height, but you DO NOT NEED TO LOOSE 40 OR 30 LBS!
If you are short, then I think the maximum you should loose is ten.
and yes, it would be enough.

You are definately NOT obese.
You can calculate your BMI here:
http://www.ibx.com/gen-y2/parents/obesity/bmi.html
it will tell you whether your underweight or not.
