Do Christians believe JESUS is the GOD of the Old Testament?
The Trinity contends that all three parts of God are one without any separation between them otherwise it would be proven to be polytheism.
Therefore, according to Christianity the God of the Old Testament is Jesus.
If you say yes, then you cannot ever deny that he sent the commandments written in the Old Testament.
Someone can say they don’t follow them anymore…ok…. But if they ever deny that he made these commands then JESUS was not the GOD of the Old Testament.
Here is one command JESUS sent down:
"If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, 21: but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property.” ---- Exodus 21:20-21
If a Christian denies it was ever sent down by Jesus then either Jesus is not their God or they don’t believe that the Bible is the word of God.
Whether these are still enforced or whether these were sent millenniums ago…… are not the question.
The eye opener is that Christians cannot deny that according to their faith Jesus sent this command down.
Maybe enslaved men can handle a beating but fragile women would be in pain beyond imagination.
The point being made is not that Christians are released from following the divine law….the point is that if JESUS is the One God of the OT then he said this about WOMEN.

Yes, Jesus is the God of the O.T. he made the law, not to mention the world as well. That being said, according to what you're saying, one could still be unnerved about what was said in the O.T. with God the Father. The Father is still around too, he hasn't gone anywhere. Like you said, one and the same.
The point of the N.T. is that God (Christ) or (Jesus), God came down to Earth and fulfilled the whole law of the O.T.
The law of the O.T. was completely fulfilled and thus became totally null and void.
One might ask, then why have the law in the first place? It was to show us the consequence of sin. As anyone can see, it is obvious that no one can ever live up to the demands of the law. No matter how hard one tried, it is impossible. But, we needed to see and realize what it means to be pure and holy, and how impossible it is for man to achieve. If we never knew the law, we would never understand what we were being saved from. Like Paul said in Romans 7 the law was our schoolmaster to show us and open up our eyes to our hopeless situation. But, God had a plan to help us before he even created the world. He had to die for us, because he knew we would sin, and he could not just ignore that sin, with him being holy. So he became sin for us, the thing in which he abhores, he became for us. Now, that is love.

OK, I admit that you got a point with this one (Practically the first time that I have ever seen a skeptic on R&S raise an honest point about the Bible or Christianity, I might add, if memory serves.)
Apparently God did say this. I won't argue with you on this one.
I will simply give God the benefit of a doubt on this, since he was around thousands of years ago when this was written, and he knew the contemporary social conditions being addressed, and neither you nor I was there, and neither of us know what was going on.
One thing to note, however, this appears to be "debt slavery" that Moses was discussing (I.E.: one sold himself or herself voluntarily into slavery to pay off a huge debt that he/she could not ever repay.).
Good thing that God has released us from "Curse of the Law" (to paraphrase the apostle Paul), and this no longer applies to us because of God's grace. God in his mercy has released us from this.

A little honesty goes a long way. He said it about SLAVES, both male AND female. He also said WHY. Because they were THEN considered property.
What you need to realize is that the Bible was written in order to change horrible human behavior. This was just one step along a path which we have since long surpassed.
Why are YOU permitted to be a husband, a father, and an employee, but God is NOT permitted to have three identities?

right this is what i think of: The bible ( written via guy, Shakespeare if I undergo in ideas properly) has been edited, revised and amended because of the fact it became into first written. there have been factors bumped off, some extra so who's acquainted with for confident which section is quite translated from God's unique observe. there are particular factors that i think of is figuratively speaking and not plenty literal. you could examine some thing in a single passage which would be completely contradicted in yet another. i'm very religious and not plenty non secular. I also have a private relationship with God yet to no longer the factor of being a enthusiast. i think we've been all born in sin ( as he's acquainted with) yet existence's experience could desire to be approximately worrying and loving others unselfishly, unconditionally, protecting his commandments and helping people who can not help themselves. according to possibility I have been given off the question slightly, yet to answer, i do no longer think of all interior the bible became into meant to be taken actually.
