When asked about my religion, I tell people "it's a secret". lol
I just don't like to argue and stirr controversy. I like to keep my belief to myself.
Do you think that's cool or hypocrite?

I guess its okay only if you think it is..there is nothing wrong in telling others what you believe in..your supposed to have great pride in your faith or maybe something is wrong!

I think your assuming religion has to stir controversy. For myself, I'm a Christian, I never keep it a secret, but I never argue or stir up controversy either.

People who know me know who I am and where I stand, if they want to discuss it or know more, I am happy to share. But I don't run around either pushing people's noses in it or allowing others to push me into a pointless debate or argument. When that happens just politely say "I don't think this is the time or place for this discussion".

I have an icon on my myspave page that I firmly believe is true for everyone. It says "It is better to be hated for who you are, than to be loved for who you aren't".

I do have friends and even family who are not christians. We politely agree to disagree and we do not debate religion. Not debating it is not the same as keeping it a secret though. I know where they stand, they know where I stand. We respect each other as humans enough to allow freedom of choice.

Lots of people keep there religion secret. It's cool, and it's your personal choice. On here i am open about it, but that's behind a computer screen. In real life I kinda keep it to my self. I live in the bible built, but they question catholics and i admit it i don't have all the answers. So sometimes it is my secret.

Well Christians are very proud to share the good news of God and Jesus. We would never be ashamed or want to keep it a secret. If you're not comfortable doing that, then maybe you should re-think your religion.

Well I think you just aren't ready to share it yet.
It's not something everyone is willing to do off the bat.
It's something that takes people a while to take a stand for an be convicted on. Don't rush anything ... God will take you where you need to be, he doesn't need you to rush it.
I don't think you are a hypocrite

I think it's cool to not reveal your religion. It's supposed to be a personal decision anyway, so it is really not any one else's business. I've had people like me until they started pushing the whole religion thing, now that's hypocritical!

I share my religion with some and not with others... it depends on how certain people would take it... I am an atheist and sometimes it isn't good to share that with a priest from the catholic church...

actually the Bible says Mark 16:15 "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." We are not supposed to hide the Light of the World we are supposed to share it with people!!!God gave us a commandment to preach the Gospel to everyone!!! and i plan to obey that...i hope you will too...

I don't think it's cool to keep it as a secret. Are you ashamed of your religion? You don't say what your religion is but if you are a Christian then you are going directly against the Bible. Christ tells us that "He who denies Me before men, I will deny before my Father."

My journey with God is a way of life. If others ask I tell. Iam not afraid or ashamed to proclaim Iam a Catholic Christian. Iam very proud to be a child of God's. You should be too.

it's hypocritical. Don't listen to what other people are telling you... if you want the truth, you should stand up for what you believe is right. It's important. Whoever is ashamed of me or my words in this wicked and adulterous generation, I also will be ashamed of him when I come in my glory with the heavenly angels so there you have it. you can hide your light and have it disappear.
