I don't know about selling them since purchasing contacts requires a valid prescription. Contact lenses are not a "one-size-fits-all" type of thing. They come in different base curves and diameters and giving (or selling the lenses) to someone without knowing if the lenses are going to fit the person properly would weigh on my conscience, personally. So, I'm not sure about selling them and the legality of all of that. They are regulated by the FDA so one would think it would be illegal, but I'm sure people do it all the time. In all my 11 years as an Optician, I don't think anyone has ever asked me this...
I agree with the person said about being able to return them in exchange for updated boxes. Where I work, as long as the boxes are unopened, we gladly exchange them. Especially if the person bought a whole year's supply and their prescription wound up changing before the year was up. Opened boxes cannot be returned. The manufacturer will not take them back. But I see no reason why the place that you got them wouldn't take them back unless they were opened or expired.

its not that easy, but MOST manufactures (CIBA, Acuvue, cooper, B&L) will allow you to send the boxes back directly to them for a refund. read the fine print on their websites, or simply call the customer service number on the box or package insert. they usuall allow you to return them, regardless of where you bought them!

They were created based on your perscription. That is why you can't return them.
Even if it were legal for you to resell them - who would buy them? A person would have to have the exact same vision/perscription as you.
The odds of that happening is extremely high.

selling contact lenses is the same as selling drugs, if you are not licensed to do so, you can go to jail if caught.
