I recently lost the love of my life and I am now exploring this new thing with psychics. Im asking ***ONLY**** the believers not the nonbelievers because if you have never tried it then how would you know if it were real or not. But anyway I find all this stuff intresting. And I dont believe it has anything to do with witch craft. I think that the Lord blessed SOME of these people with a true talent. What is your take on this?

I would suggest reading George Anderson's book "We don't Die" and also " Lessons from the Light" he has a strong Christian link and is also a medium. He also participated in a scientific experiment run by Dr. Gary Schwartz,he is a professor of psychology, medicine, neurology, psychiatry and surgery at the University of Arizona and director of its Human Energy Systems Laboratory; his credentials include a doctorate from Harvard and a professorship at Yale, they put the results in a book called " The After Life Experiment" they used many different mediums and but them in a blind study where they got incredible results. I would suggest that you do research into this area and allow yourself to make the choice.

I am christian and I believe that some psychics and mediums posses this ABILITY I would not at all say this is a blessing. Witch craft has a lot to do with it... though they aren't performing witch craft they talk to the dead. Something that isn't correct in the eyes of god.

I am sorry for your loss. The love of my life recently went thru a major surgery for cancer, she came thru ok, but I can understand your pain.

As a Christian, though, we must learn to live by every word of God, so mediums and such are forbidden:

Exodus 22:18 Any woman using unnatural powers or secret arts is to be put to death.

Deuteronomy 18:10 Let there not be seen among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter go through the fire, or anyone using secret arts, or a maker of strange sounds, or a reader of signs, or any wonder-worker,

One of the reasons that God took the Kingship of Israel from Saul is he consulted a "medium" to talk to the dead. (1 Samuel 28:6-18). Also, the Apostles were faced with a medium or witch and condemned him (Acts 8:9-24).

If it is any comfort to you, your loved one and yourself will be reunited at your ressurection in the Kingdom of God and will be given an opportunity to spend eternity together.

I am a christian, and my life I grew up in has psychics and mediums in it, my mom wanted me to become a medium but for whatever reason they kinda scared me. My sister is a psychic and I have been told many times I am as well, so for me yeah I believe in some of the psychics I watch a few of them myself, I believe that with some of them if it a gift from God not to foretell the future but to help others who has lost loved ones if that makes sense..

You can " believe" in anything you want as far as the bible is concerened; it is just that you are prohibited from practicing it and one is not supposed to consult mediums and soothsayers. Also it is mentioned in the bible, as well as scientifically that there is no communication with the dead.
No one doubts that people experience strange phenomenah or claims to have pschic talents but the problem has been that nobody making such claims can pass the tests under scientific scrutiny and observation.

Well you don't want a nonbelievers opinion but I'm giving it anyway.

My understanding is that the practitioning of those 'arts' has nothing to do with religion but rather with a gift or connection or whatnot.

So if you go to ones that don't make claims based on being god or worshiping satan or rocks or such then I don't see how it can affect your Christianity.

And Christian is not a specific religion...so it would really depends on what type of Christian you are (Catholic, Baptist, Luteran, etc.). I'm Athiest so I don't know all the ins and outs and rules of all the different ones. Can't help you there but I'm sure your preacher or pastor or whatever could.

ABSOLUTELY WRONG!
Declaring yourself as a Christian is declaring your faith and trust in ONE GOD as the ruler and guide of your life. To consult in psychics is like saying, "God, I really don't trust that you'll provide for me."
Psychics don't really have any more talent than you do...really listening to what other's are saying is the key.
My guess is that God is trying to speak to you...are you really listening?

Isaiah 8:19
When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?

No.

You can know if they are real or not by reading the Bible.

Read Jesus' parable of Lazeras. You'll see that when Lazeras was in Abraham's bosom, there was NO WAY he could commmunicate with the living.

That makes all of these mediums frauds, or worse, demon communicators. Remember, there are demons all around us, probably some that saw your love and his habits. If they communicate certain things to the "medium" she will appear as if she's communicating to the dead.

Demons want to play with your mind. They have no good intentions to you.

Go to a good church that has the gifts of the spirit in action (healing, prophecy etc.) You may recieve a valid prophecy concerning your situation. In those cases, it will always be encouraging, uplifting and glorifying to God.

Absolutly not!!!!!! Scince the begining of time and even recorded in the bible there have been psychics or prophets. The notion that only certain people can pere into the future is complete hogwash. I am a christian as well but the fear of witchcraft and angering God is completely out dated. I believe that through God anyone can do anything. Jeasus himself said "not only will thy do the great works that I do, But thy sall do greater works than I do." God does not excist to condem you and you should open all that you are to embrase his love and abudance. God told us that we were created in his image and likeness. God is infinite and his mind nows no limitation, therefor neither does yours. If you need metaphysical help, then by all means seek it. Just remember that you are no different than "psychics" are, they are just more finlly tuned than they are.

God forbade the Israelites from having anything to do with mediums or psychics. It was punishable by death. St. Paul encountered a real life medium and her power came from a demon. He cast it out and she lost her abilities. Demons like to pretend to be dead loved ones and they know all kinds of things about you and your life. So, if you are a Christian, God has forbidden you to go to a medium. Plus, you are in essence looking to other spiritual sources for comfort instead of looking to Jesus, which means you are rejecting God in favor of other things.
