70-80% of the USA population calls themselves Christian.

I'm gonna magically create some other statistics now, based on Y!A:

** 73% of the US Christians claim that the USA is a Christian Nation.

** 96% out of these 73% claims that many other US Christians are not "real Christians".

** 88% of the Christians claim having been called "Not a real Christian" at least once in their live.

Based on my statistics, which are pretty accurate, I have to ask: How can a country with only 3.1% Real Christians be concidered a Christian Nation?

I'm being serious here: it's kind of like when asked what race a person is, they immediately answer black, white, Asian, etc. In other words, they repeat what they were told they were as children.

I truly believe that hardly anyone really believes in a deity of any sort, because, once again, they just repeat what they remember. Besides, "religious" people can only focus on what others aren't allowed to do, rather than focusing on the love and kindness their respective religion is supposed to stand for.

The funny thing is, most can't accept criticism of their religions, so they'll flag dissenting viewpoints.

I absolutely hate beets. They taste like wet dirt.

Now it would be ridiculous for someone from the beet police to flag this as inappropriate just because I said I "hate" beets, but then again, I'm sure someone would. I hope someone sees what I'm trying to convey...

You have spent a lot of time thinking about this and now you must understand that the USA is not a christian nation. No it is not. Many people living in the nation say they are christian aand there are many other relitions as well.

The USA has no oficial religion and no oficial language.

Most other nations do have both.

The constitution does state that church and state are to be seperate. Did you read that correctly????? Church not religion. Meaning that the orgnized churches can not be part of the running of the government. People can be religious and still be in government6.

The UK and the church of England definately part of the government. there are many more I could mention but you get the idea so go and do some more thinking.

your statistics are false, thers not a 70-80% christain community in america.
it isnt a christain nation, its a massive random believing nation. choose 20 random people, they probably all have a different belief, not to mention the new beliefs being made up every day just in one city.
though the most in ammount is the christains, they hold roughly 50-60% of america, and randomly rising and falling.

What a great question, and nicely presented.

Worse than being pathetic, calling the U.S. a "Christian nation" is extremely selfish, not to mention disrespectful of all the non-Christians who have helped to make this country what it is, many of whom died to defend religious freedom. Being a nation that cherishes individual liberties is far better than being a Christian nation, or Muslim nation, or Humanist nation.

...all to the utter consternation of the 20-30% that never claimed to be Christian.

Especially when Christian politicians regularly and rather cheerfully violate the rules about not stealing and not killing...

It's pathetic at first utterance. After that, it's just plain delusion.

You are pathetic! Oh wait, I said something negative, that makes me a non-christian. I am so sorry I didn't live up to your impossible standard.
