You've not been given any indication as to robes/costume etc, so it doesn't sound like you are taking an active part in the ritual. If you are worried about upsetting anyone about your choice of clothes, just ask them.
That said most pagans see friends being there, happy and comfortable, as being more important than what they are wearing. Chose something that is "you", and something that is towards the smarter end of what you wear in your own time.
If you're the kind of person who goes clubbing, then a smart version of what you wear then, should be perfectly acceptable.
At the other extreme if you're an down to earth "eco-warrior" then then your "smart clothes" might even be clean gardening type trousers and a pullover.
Most clothes from "hippy"or other "alternative" cultures fine.
If you/the organisers felt comfortable, you could of course chose to attend sky-clad. In this case you SHOULD ask those organising the ritual for the green light.

I'd wear maybe a long loose skirt and a cool top. Something really cute and comfortable.
Or are you talking about being the one being handfasted? If you are then, you could wear a wedding dress, a two piece outfit... whatever you want.

Something light and comfortable, but suited to the occasion. I think a red or orange (these are very festive colors in my mind) sundress with a light sweater over your shoulders and some nice strappy low-heeled sandles would do it. There will probably be dancing, so you'll want them to be comfy.

something light and airy, are you in the wedding or a watcher? if you are in it, the bride should give you pointers of what she likes. if just attending, then something simple and pretty, so you won't burn up. wear a fresh flower in your hair with a clip. very little makeup, if any at all(you dont want it to melt away!) and smile!

Something breathable, in a light cotton, but festive. A pretty sundress ought to do the trick. Ask the bride--when in doubt, *always* ask the bride!

I feel that skirts tend to either look kind of cheap or trashy if they are tight and short, or these are just the run of the mill jean skirts that are not necessarily sexy.
