No, broken English nor grammar mistakes do not irritate me. The hope is that if trivial mistakes by others are understood in spite of the errors, my mistakes will be ignored as well, as long as the intent is understood.
English spoken by non English language speakers can be
hilarious. An example was a conversation i had with a
citizen of Cameroon. She said i reminded her of
" the guy that walked stiff legged and cried out ra, raaa, ra."
Well it turned out she was trying to call me Frankenstein, i laughed until my belly hurt.
Have a pleasant day.

My English is "broken" and I know that. Sometimes I can smile about my own mistakes. I use to use the German grammer for building English sentences. Well, I know, English has the rule "SPV" but in more difficult sentences (like this for example), I´m not sure, where I put which word correctly. And I´m not sure were I have to use adjective and where to use adverb, because in German, the form of adverbs and adjectives are same.
Well, now you can have your fun with my broken English :-)
by the way, the accent of native English speaker in the German language is ALSO ridiculus sometimes ^^

No, I don't find broken English IRRITATING to me. I find it commendable that the foreign person takes enough interest to learn our language. I spent some time in Germany, with my ex-husband, who was a soldier in the US Army. I was the only civilian to enroll in the language classes because I wanted to communicate with the locals. I even had the neighbor to teach me the ABC's in order to make my desire to learn more rewarding. When I went out to places that generally served locals, I would sometimes struggle and the locals were more than happy to help straighten me and my broken Deutsch out. Sure they smirked and grinned a bit when I messed up, however, they were appreciative that I had taken the time and patience to learn their language, and in return, I was treated kind.

I'm a foreigner, English isn't my foreign language, but at least I did the effort to learn...
I would like to see you write in my language.. I'll bet there be more mistakes then you can find in my English :)
But I do understand that it's irritating sometimes.

What really ticks me off is not broken english but when you go to a store, not a mexican store, in America, not a mexican area, and not one person can speak ANY english. I realize we don't have a national language but when more than 80% of the population speaks one language they should be able to at least try to learn it.

Not as much as your bad spelling... First and foremost, you must speak and write correctly, and then you may judge others!

Yeah.I only approve English spoken in London(Real English Accent).I also get annoyed with spelling mistakes. Its my love for the language that causes it.Anyway correct speelings are:
IRITATE - IRRITATE
