shortened breath can be symptomatic of many many different problems. You don't give enough information here to be able to tell you why you may be short of breath. It can be anything from a simple cold to bronchitis to pnuemonia to congestive heart failure, but all of those things have other symptoms that are more indicative than just being short of breath. Something as simple as being overweight can also cause it.
The most notorious foods that have a carcinogenic effect would be those that produce nitrosamines during cooking, like bacon, sausages and some hams. Basically any cured food that is then fried produces carcinogens. It does however take an enormous intake of these foods to cause a cancer. Most people don't eat enough in a lifetime to do that.
If your shortness of breath is interfering with your activities of daily living, I suggest you see a doctor.

Asthma, allergies, emphysema, COPD, bronchitis, let's not guess how about seeing a physician?

Many foods that are fried and foods that have sulfites and nitrites can cause cancer, hotdogs, alcohol, bacon, ham, pepperoni, salami, many foods with preservatives, the list is too long to list, you get the idea. Unnatural, overprocessed food loaded with preservatives. Also white sugar products cause cancer. Sorry.
