I am 27, and I have had reactive hypoglycemia since I was 18. I have learned how to control it, and I pretty much never have candy, and rarely have desserts. I drink every once in awhile, but make sure i balance it with protein. If I were to quit eating white flour, sugar, alcohol, etc., COMPLETELY for awhile, would that cure it indefinetly?

Hi
Unfortunately you prob will have it for life, however if you are generally strict on your diet then the impact of sugars and refined carbohydrates on your body might lessen with time.

This means that whereas before certain foods may have caused you reactions, with time you may be able to tolerate these foods in moderation.

Im not sure you can completely rid yourself of Hypoglycemia however

Unfortunately no you cannot get rid of hypoglycemia. Once you have it, you have it for life. I have this condition and was diagnosed with it 40 years ago. What I find helps me is taking chromium tablets one with each meal. It really helps stabilize and balance the blood sugar. Start taking this and stop sugar and you will feel a lot better.
