Yes, He is real and you believe it.

I would have to say yes. There have been some situations where my back was against the wall, with nowhere to turn, and I believed in God, and I thanked Him in advance for helping me get out certain predicaments, and He has created miracles that have astounded me, and everytime I have doubts, I remember those. Perfect example; I moved to a different state, and I would have to wait 3 weeks for my first paycheck. I was broke, and the bank used up the last paycheck from my previous job. Anyway, I was broke and starving, and I told God I at least needed gas money to get to my new job, and some money for food and foot for my cat until I got my first paycheck. Well, the next day, I found a $500 bill, all crumpled up, in a bathroom stall at my new job. So, yes, I believe there is a God, because there is no way to explain the existence of that much money, and the time I needed it. And wouldn't you think that you would have heard is someone was missing $500 dollars? I heard nothing. Yes, I don't just believe in God. I know there is a God

This is not a decision we can make for you. We can only tell you how we believe. The only "hard" evidence of Gods existence is the bible. I would recommend that you read it with a open mind and a critical eye. Don't read it with a preconcieved notion that god exists and don't read it trying to find evidence against god. Read it for a possible historical text, after all this is what the christian churches beliefs are built on. Keep an eye out for contridictions, keep an eye out for errors, keep an eye out for things that just don't seem right if God is as good as he is made out to be.

Once your done then think about what you have found. If you have found a bunch of "problems" then you need to decide if this is a book you can trust. If you say yes then it should be easy to believe in god. IF you say no then you have to ask yourself how you could believe in a god when you don't trust the only text that provides "proof" of his existance.

Good luck with your journey.

God is real, pray and God will be very real to you.
Don't worry about everyone arguing about religion; especially here on Yahoo. You could end up very confused, as there are so many interpretations about what is right and what is wrong. Go directly to the Bible, and prove to yourself, what the Bible says. Don't believe people; believe God!
If you want to learn truths, either find a good church to attend, or find out what various churches believe in. Take notes on different subjects and then do your own Bible study. Say for ex., one church tells you that there is a hellfire. Another church tells you there isn't. Which one is correct??? Start searching for scriptures that will prove the answer to you, whether it is true or it isn't!
God bless you on finding your truth.

Why do you believe in god? Is it because you were raised in a family that believed in god?

Which god do you believe in? There have been thousands in mankind's history. There isn't a consistent description of god in any one of the books describing god, let alone anything near consistent across the books. Do you believe in a particular idea of god just because your family believed in that idea of god?

Do you have any idea how you would go about deciding for yourself if there is really a god, and if there is one, what that god is like? Or do you want to let others make that decision for you?

God is a marriage of Divine Love (heat) and Divine Wisdom (light).

The idea of God, with all conception of Him, having been thus rent asunder, it is my purpose to treat, in their order, of God the Creator, of the Lord the Redeemer, and of the Holy Spirit the Operator, and lastly of the Divine trinity, to the end that what has been rent asunder may be again made whole; which is done when the reason of man is convinced by the Word and by light therefrom that there is a Divine trinity, and that the trinity is in the Lord God the Savior Jesus Christ, like the soul, the body, and what goes forth from these, in man; and that thus this article in the Athanasian Creed is true:"

"In Christ God and man, or the Divine and the Human, are not two, but are in one person; and as the rational soul and the flesh are one man, so God and man are one Christ." -- True Christian Religion n.4[3]:

Why rely on others to tell you what you should believe? Make a careful examination of the question, and choose your own path.

Every major religion has its merits and has been of benefit to millions of people over the course of history.

Just like trying on shoes.... the right size does not magically appear on your foot, you must go looking for it. When it fits, you will know it and any doubts will dimish.

Believe what you want. I hate organized religion and I don't believe in "god" or "gods" I just think that as long as I try to be instinctively good and happy then that's all that really matters rather than attending some silly ritual to please something that there is no proof of whether it be in Christianity or Ancient Greek religion.

I say god is not real because he would serve no purpose in the universe and we can explain things via science and not some magic deity up in the sky.

but that is my two cents.

In the end it is up for you to decide because no one can show you cold hard evidence that he does exist. You will need to search deep inside yourself to come up with an answer because is the end no one can tell you what to believe.

A Source is real; I don't think anybody will argue that point. What is being discussed here is how different Belief systems define or perceive that Source. You can agree or disagree with anyone else's Belief, but either way, I don't see how you can doubt the existence of a Source.

Are you born again and baptized in the Holy Spirit? When you pray in tongues you will know that the Holy Spirit inside you is giving you utterances to pray. This spiritual experience of God working in you will help you know that God is real.
