What about sheep when it rains? Do they get smaller?

So don't toss sheep in a dryer when they get wet.

It is not the washing that shrinks wool....it is the drying. This is why sheep do not shrink! You can get wool wet...you just cannot toss it in the dryer.

No because if you wash wool by hand in cold water it does not shrink and rain is cold.

No. A lamb's body secretes lanolin, a protective oily substance that repels water. When wool is processed for use in textiles the natural lanolin is ''washed away''.
