besides $400, the blue ray player, better graphics, and the fact that eventually you won't be able to buy any more new ps2 games, they will all be on ps3. planned obsolescence, also, I'm sure they'll be a ps4, that's even more money, once everyone finally buys the ps3

There will be a HUGE difference between the two.If you think psp graphics are bad dont ever go in for a ps2.The ps3 has blu ray disks that enhance the graphics tremendously and make them look more realistic and since technology is improving so much most of the new and good games are now only being realesed on the ps3.Go in for a ps3.The ps2 is a waste.The games are getting old and the graphics arnt that good either.Oh and you can also connect your psp to a ps3 to transfer things and do stuff like that.Hope this helps.

The casing difference, ps3 is piano black gloss ( dun like, short term beauty ) ps2 is the matte finish ( durable ) is the first things u see.. better hardware in the ps3 over the ps2. Blu ray ( ps3 ) and dvd ( ps2 ). Standard wireless but no dualshock controllers ( traded for motion sensing ) for ps3 and wired for the ps2. Price is big difference too and of course one is getting on with age which is the ps2.

The PS3 has a lot more features than the PS2, and it's about $500 more than the PS2.

the PS3 is NOT expensive. OK, it is for a gaming system but don't forget it is a blu ray player which a stand alone one would cost you alot more. plus it has other features. i think it a good price.
it's well worth getting a PS3 after the PS2 especially if you have an HDTV!

the ps3 is like a flat screen broadcasting in full hd capacity and the ps2 is like watching tv 10 years ago

the ps3 have standard wireless controllers with motion detection (that means when you jerk the controller in a racing game... it knows)
