I am taking Percocet for kidney stones. My job requires random urine drug tests. Will it show up on the drug test? I don't do drugs. Will they believe me if it came back positive that it's percocet for a health reason?

Yes it will show positive on your drug screen, but you've got a medical reason and a prescription for that.....so don't worry about it. The only thing you'll need to be able to show them is your prescription bottle.......so if you still have that.......don't worry. Hope you feel better soon.......best of luck to you.

My surgeon was very super strict about pain meds. He only allowed Hydrocodone after the surgery for about 10 days. He would not allow any meds prior to surgery, I was in horrible pain and he agreed but said to be strong,you can do it. So, does a doctor have to wean you off drugs? No, unless it could cause health issues. Does he have to give you meds because you say you have pain, even if he knows you have pain? No, doctors are getting pretty tight with pain medicine these days because so many people are abusing them,they don't want to get nailed with over prescribing of narcotics/or other drugs. I don't think there is anything else you can do, try to learn how to live with it I guess.

yes it will show up, but they will ask if you are taking any meds before collection. tell them what you are taking - if you have/had a prescription you'll be fine.

As long as you can show you have a prescription for it you are okay.

it will most likely show up but since you have a doctors permission to take this then they can't do anything about it.

yes it will show up, but if your prescribed it. then its ok just show proof of the prescription.
