Through my other questions people have answered that the NT is the fullfillment of the OT. That a messiah was prophesized and Jesus Christ was the fullfillment of that prophesy. What if that was an easy (and perhaps inaccurate) justification of the early church fathers to start THEIR religion? That would also mean the NT is also fiction. There is no proof that Jesus resurrected, that our sins are forgiven or that the NT holds truth.
Now 2000 years ago every city had a messiah. And alot of those messiahs had followers. Sure their religion is not around today but perhaps Jesus had a better PR campain not to mention the Catholic Church has a history of destroying other religions.
If you were born in Israel or India or Egypt your perspective of Jesus could be very different. Therefore is the power of a religion - its faithfull followers - as fragile as the family that you were born into?

Good question. No one can answer this for you. You have to find out for your self. Everyone who is baptized Catholic at birth assumes the faith of their parents or guardians. This seems to be enough for some. But for others, like you and me, as we become adults we have to make the decision for ourselves. I would encourage you to investigate the Catholic beliefs on your own. Keep an open mind. Have no preconceived ideas. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. Seek only the truth. Whatever you conclude should resolve any issues you may have and provide greater confidence in what you believe and greater peace of mind.

No other religion offers a Messiah that rose from the dead.
Jesus is the only way of salvation because He is the only One who can pay our sin penalty (Romans 6:23). No other religion teaches the depth or seriousness of sin and its consequences. No other religion offers the infinite payment of sin that only Jesus Christ could provide. No other “religious founder” was God become man (John 1:1,14) – the only way an infinite debt could be paid. Jesus had to be God so that He could pay our debt. Jesus had to be man so He could die. Salvation is available only through faith in Jesus Christ! “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

Yeah -- you may be right. How's this for a PR campaign:

"Join us and your family will be mercilessly persecuted!" Or how about: "Apostles wanted: must be willing to be killed for their faith."

THAT would ensure a pseudo-religion endures for thousands of years!

The fact is, the Apostles wouldn't have endured what they did unless they saw with their own eyes that Jesus had performed miracles and had been resurrected. The Apostle Paul told folks who needed reassurance to speak with some of the 500 who saw Jesus after His resurrection. Now why would he have done that unless he knew these folks would bear witness to the fact that Jesus wasn't dead? And why would many of these early believers endure unspeakable torture and hardship if they, also, didn't have first-hand knowledge that He had risen?

You were informed correctly the Old Testament did fortell of the coming Messiah therefore could not have been merely an invention of the early Christian church. Careful study of the Old Testament shows that our salvation did and does depend on him.

Wow...What along way to get to the question. First off, no the bible is not an essay. It is truth. Second Jesus is the Messiah. He is the Son of God and He did die and rise again for your sins. Why do you need proof? Why can't you have faith and believe? The bible and the touch of God is all the proof I need. I hope you turn towards Him too. God bless you.

I rely on the words of Jesus, as related in John chapter 4 (the conversation with the Samaritan woman at the well):

25 The woman saith to him, I know that Messias is come, that is said Christ; therefore when he cometh [therefore when he shall come], he shall tell us all things.

26 Jesus saith to her, I am he, that speaketh with thee. [Jesus saith to her, I am, that speak with thee.]

That's a pretty clear statement. After the resurrection, Jesus met with two disciples on the road to Emmaus and revealed to them the many Messianic prophecies in Scripture. As this link shows, Jesus has already fulfilled over 360 prophecies (with more to come as we look forward to His return). http://bibleprobe.com/300great.htm

This was the consistent teaching and preaching of the early Church. That message still transforms lives today in an unmistakable way and the Holy Spirit bears witness to its truth in the hearts of believers.

Jesus: made under the law, is only the Saviour of Israel
Christ: is the end of the law, is "the Saviour of the world"
"To wit": that God was in "Christ" reconciling "the world"
(that God was not in Jesus law imputing sin & death ww)

Salvation is "through" Jesus->Christ->God-ward.
Which things are an "allegory" and a "mystery".

Baby-lon: twice fallen to "great"<-greater<-greatest.
God-ward: twice risen to great->greater->"greatest".
For only the "greatest" of "three" things "never faileth".

The Bible defines itself as "allegory" and "mystery".
It's not to be taken literal, rather a mystery to solve;
Solve in time, lest all perish instead of none perish.

The Lord is longsuffering to us-ward so none perish.
So it's not some only; Rather it's a globe-all matter.
For there is no respect of persons with God. None.

You too can have partiality with an impartial God? Not!
You too can bend over, dble kiss divided @ss bye bye.
You won't get any partiality with Law God or Grace God.
By law all die, not some; And by grace all live, not some.

Science proved only one thing is common to all ww:
a legend of the flood is common to all man kind ww.
Yet science also proved a flood never happened ww.
So then: science is as confused as IMPure religions.

"God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace".

Global Peace Index Website: on "peace"
Peace isn't won by wars; it's the absence of violence.

Gandhi: on "peace" (non-violence)
The choice is non-violence or non-existence

Albert Einstein: on "peace"
Peace can't be enforced, it comes by understanding.

Plato: on "understanding"
No ordinance or law is mightier than understanding.

Solomon: on "understanding" (Proverbs 4)
"With all thy getting, get understanding" = "grace glory".

Paul The Apostle (his witness unto all men): on "grace";
as conclusion of law vs grace in every Pauline epistle:

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ WITH YOU ALL. AMEN.

Religion is of men. Faith is of God. If you choose not to accept Jesus as the Messiah, that is your choice.

The bible says that 'He came to his own and his own didn't receive him'. Messiah sounds powerful and warlike, but Jesus was humble and served others. But he was and is the Messiah and the Son of God.

the power of religion is very strong and can be very dangerous also
but,I never believed he was the Messiah I still don't.. and if he was, he made a mess of things
The church has always been so god with lies, you can't trust a word they say.
