What do you think of those who don't believe in God or don't follow any religion?

(And which country are you from?)

Please, be sincere.

I'm from Singapore and I'm 20, can I be considered a teen?

For the record, I don't think this is an "immature" question. It is a good question for teenagers to wake up and think about. In a fast changing world, where trends and the media overrules everything else, people tend to lose sight of what really matters. And I'm not talking about religion or a specific "God" for that matter.

Call it your inner self. Call Him Allah, Jesus, Buddha...in any case, I truly believe that a higher power does indeed exist. It's what keeps us going, what keeps the world spinning, what keeps us sane, what started the universe from scratch. There are many unanswered questions in the world today...if there is a God, why does so much happen, why is there so much confusion, why is this, why is that..and the list goes on. Some people have the answers, some don't. Some think they do, others can't be bothered.

We've become immune over the centuries to place logic on par with Science. Maybe there are just some things we were not created to know, that we don't have the capacity to understand. And so we'll keep asking these questions. There is a reason for everything. I believe in love, peace, hope. And above all, that happiness is a birthright. No matter where we were born or how poor, or how sick, or what kind of society we live in, we all have the capacity to be happy. More importantly, no matter what our circumstances, we all DESERVE to be happy. And for the free-thinkers without a religion, that is God. To realise their inner self, to be happy.

There will always be questions. However, I don't fear the unknown. Because what is known to me is God.

I don't believe in God because I've read enough science books to know that one thing/person cannot create something so large by themselves. Honestly, think about it for a while. A divine being walking the earth three days after being pronounced dead? A virgin becoming pregnant? The earth flooding? Saints decaying less rapidly and in a odd manner? Come on. The bible seems to be a work of science fiction. I cannot base my life around something that hasn't been proven real.

I do believe in God. But I don't believe that he is an old man, with a long white bread sitting on the clouds looking down at us. I believe god is an energy, and it is our choice to obtain the energy or not. I also believe that no one can teach us about god because he isn't a fact or something someone discovered. God is something each person discovers individually. I am from USA but I'm 100% Iranian.

I ought to admit, the reason of that's practise. the way we are knowledgeable approximately God, has a great form of gaps. God in a vogue, is portrayed as an previous guy, who strikes everybody that is going against him. Vindictive, and vicious. human beings have a problematic time accepting that , and subsequently come to the tip there is not any God. Religions have arise with this portrayal of God to regulate the masses. yet human beings do no longer prefer to be controlled, and so pass against it. If in common terms we've been taught the main appropriate issues, in line with danger youngsters does no longer rebel. the certainty is everybody believes in God deep interior. in any different case how might we pass on? some human beings do exactly no longer comprehend it.

i'm indian (was brought up abroad, but live here in india now), and i very, very strongly believe in god. i'm a monotheist, meaning i don't really believe in religion; i believe that all religions essentially pray to the same god, or the same supreme power. it's odd, aince india's a country of seven major religions - that's a pretty big number for just one country! from this diversity, i've learnt to respect and try to learn about all other religions, and i have to add that i'm really proud of my own!

I do believe in God, and when I know I'm doing something wrong... my concience eats me up and I can't stand it, I feel so guilty that I have to go pray. Sometimes I try to believe that there isnt a God, but I know in the back of my mind he's real.

No, but its more personality based than age based. I have little trust in anyone ... so the idea of placing so much faith in something you can't see, can't prove and could well be wrong about seems horrific to me.

Other peoples' opinions don't bother me, as long as they prevent themselves for forcing it onto me. I have friends from a couple of religions, I have family from others and I accept them all. How boring would it be if no one believed anything different to ourselves?

I'm from England.

A part of me believes there is a god and a part of me doesn't.

But this is the truth for most people religious or atheist but i do believe a person who believes in god must set high moral codes and avoid hypocrisy.

A lot of people are hypocrites, they use religion to justify things, they Lie, steal and say "OMG" or "OMFG" calling god's name in vain. they claim they are religious but really they are too ignorant to see their hypocrisy(a lot of us at times or a lot of times do this)

i think if one is religious, he must be virtuous and set a high moral code. One must be loyal to his religion, apply sincerity and be virtuous.

There is no room in religion for hypocrites because religion is about loyalty and sincerity(quality of being genuine). I don't believe there is a genuine religious person in this world and religious leaders them self's can be hypocrites.

It is hard to be like this when society's negative behavior can drive you away from being a genuine religious person.

It is not easy to survive and be a genuine religious person with the influence of society, it takes to much work...

this is my philosophy of the true christian....
