It can be fixed, however it will most likely cost a small fortune. Probably over what the camera is worth... That being said, Ritz Camera One Hour Photo/or Kitz or Wolf all the same chain have a repair facility in Beltsville, MD which is closer than sending it to Sony- you can get an estimate from there, but you do have to send your camera and it can take 6-8 weeks for a response, but if the camera isn't working who cares right? I hope that helps..Also, if you are in the market for a new camera Ritz,Kitz Wolf etc....store do have an ESP policy.... Which does cover most breakage issues except for theft/fire. It does cost extra, but it's great for the accident prone.... They also match price competitor store's (not online) and have great customer service/support and lab tech's. Atleast the one's I worked at did.... Good luck

I agree with tomtom! you can get it fixed but it will cost a ton of money!!! But here is a trick that might save you a ton of money! Get a hair dryer!, yes I said a hair dryer!!! set the hair dryer on medium heat and aim it at your camera for about 15 minutes (0r longer) move the dryer in a circular motion over the camera! and then try to turn the camera on! if it dose not work, try the dryer again and the try the camera again, if it dose not work, it's time to take it to the repair shop or buy a new camera!
Thank You,
Bob
