Personnaly I feel no matter if a child is in school or not they still need there sleep. I used to allow my daughter to stay up one hour later in the summer. Most doctors say it is healthier to keep a child on a regular sleeping schedule.

Compromise? I would say..if you go to bed early..and he can be quiet watching T.V or something like that let him stay up until 11pm if its what he really wants but explain he cant sleep in all day. Give him a "up time" instead maybe? You can stay up if you want but you have to be up by 9:30am or something whatever time works best for you?

Hah! thats what they all think! for my own (14/15 age range) I still make them go to bed about 11pm - I go to bed earlier, but I dont feel that they should be up all night.
I would say 11pm - with MAYBE 12 midnight on very rare occasions...
