Hi, using 35mm slide for the first time, have a question.
Can I get them developed and printed into normal paper prints, as you do with c41 film? Or can they only be developed into little little slides?

Slides CAN be made into prints (at a price) and when you enquire about it you ask for “prints from slides service”. What you must bear in mind however is that slide film was and is specifically designed to produce transparencies and they present a far greater challenge to a lab to transform it into a print than and roll of print film would. Given this crucial fact plus the matter of the not insignificant money you will have spent on buying E6 film, I would strongly disagree that you take your work to “Jessops and other retailers”. This kind of job really needs to go to a professional’s lab, not somewhere attended by a single white-coated operator beside an automated conveyor-belt machine! Look in the Yellow Pages and you will quickly get a feel of the sort of photo lab you really need, but please don’t go to any old high street shop!

Yes it is possible to have your slides printed into normal pictures. But be prepared to pay more. Just a word of advice when you shoot E6 film set your exposure compensation button to -1/3 of a stop in other words underexpose the film by one third of a stop.
Good luck

They will make positive prints from the positive transparency.

The only problem with E-6 is that it does not have the latitude that C-41 has, where you can underexpose by a stop or two and it can be adjusted in the printing process. E-6 has no latitude, thus no room for error.

Yes you can get them printed. You will need a specialist shop. Try Jessops as a starter.
