i think people should leave us alone. alcohol does more damage then smoking does. do people get fined when they throw up after binge drinking, no. will smoking to much cause you to start a fight or crash your car. alcohol abuse, drink driving and drunken brawls cause more problems. so you know after the good two-shoes have finish having a go at us smokers it the people that drink that they will be after next.

As a reformed smoker I cannot wait for the ban. I know from experience that once you have kicked the disgusting habit you start to feel a lot better and so do all those people around you especially the little ones who are most vulnerable. The argument about freedom to do what you like doesn't wash anymore. Yes you can smoke if you want but as smokers are only about 23% of the population let the majority rule. You know you should stop, I've used all the arguments and in the end the Ban is great and we all should pack up and stop lining the tobacco companies pockets as well as Gordon Browns treasury. The money saved on the NHS will make it all worth while.

Natural Quit Smoking Magic

If you have pain in your chest when you smoke that is very helpful in keeping you on track. You may not have that pain, but keep thinking about the pain you do suffer, the coughing in the morning, or whatever. In other words, when you think about cigarettes think about the negative. I did quit cold turkey, but that was the only choice back then. One trick I found very helpful was to make a habit of not buying or carrying cigarettes, and if somehow I did get some throwing them away. (this works with liquor too). Obviously, you need to not be bumming cigarettes either. Think about how cheap and foolish you are to do that. The thing about not buying cigarettes is that the buying is at least a little painful so that is a good place to intervene if you start back up again. Likewise if you have started again and feel disgusted that is a good time to throw them in the stove (I have a wood stove) and then if you want more you would have to buy them. You just set up a steady negative wind... Good luck! You'll be feeling a lot better in just a few months.

i stopped smoking a few months ago, to be honest most smokers i know will still smoke wherever they think they won't get caught. Although when i smoked i never did in a restaurant as i thought it was very rude anyway, i like to taste the food. Pubs could be tricky as even now when i have a drink i feel like i want a ciggy (but i don't give in)
Dropping ciggy butts on the floor is classed as littering so i don't like to see that anyway, but more spaces are needed for the smokers though as it's going to be tougher...be prepared for short tempers!

Men love themselves very much other than any one---They are afraid of the diseases which may occur in their life if they have the smoking habit,so some people are thinking of avoiding smoking. But it is a fact that--Before doing so --we must stop the propaganda of selling cigger and stop its production. But it is not possible for the Govt. or the changed smokers.Govt. will get less revenue and smokers will fall in the deep sea --What to do. So in arousing the consciousness of the people--it can be lessened--No law can change the habit of the people.

Not that bad in the states yet but I agree....they treat smoking as some sort of illegal activity by banning and fines....perhaps they should get down to the root of the problem and outlaw the sales? But of course they would never do that as the taxes the states charge on cigs generates way too much income for them, they would rather see us die a slow addicted miserable death than lose their cash...(this is coming from an addicted smoker).........Wise up jackasses!!!!!......

I'm really looking forward to it, 'cause everytime I go out I feel sick from the smoke fumes and have to go outside a lot, its quite annoying. Though I do feel that people who do smoke will find it hard to stop. And I will miss that 'horrible' smell on your clothes the next day of booze and smoke haha.

Do you drive a car? - there is more chemicals from the exhaust than from cigarettes, so leave us smokers lone - we in Scotland have had the smoking ban for almost a year, wait till it happens in England, pubs clubs etc will soon loose its customers and then close down, its happening here in Scotland.
