I believe atheists are sensitive about their beliefs because they are like other people. Christians are sensitive about what they believe in, so why not atheists? I read an answer from an atheist that said he didnt have any beliefs because he was an atheist. Well....you believe there's no God? that's a belief. I feel that atheism is a faith in its own right because it's a faith of not believing in any God. You believe in what you don't believe it.

Driving blindly is an apt user name!!!
Just go to the dictionary - atheists simply do not believe in a God - not just your God but any God. Therefore there is no such thing as an atheist belief. As long as a religion does not have a god they can believe in anything.
It is not atheists that are sensitive but bad Christians!! Good Christians have enough faith not to worry about people who do not believe as they do. Good Christians also quietly and peacefully try to spread the word but have trouble doing so because people are being frightened off by the bad Christians ravings about hell and damnation!

I wouldn't say I'm sensitive about it; in fact, I hardly ever think about it until someone starts telling me I should be religious. Then I get as defensive as you (religious people) would if I was to attempt to persuade you that God was fictious.
The only other time is when people smile sadly and say, "Well, I'll pray for your soul." I always tell them I don't need it.

i don't believe we are sensitive about beliefs...as we have none...but we are constantly attacked by christians who think it is their aim in life to SAVE us...without realizing the choice we have made has SAVED us...constantly being told that "i will pray for you" is so annoying because it has no bearing in our lives...no meaning whatsoever...just shows the ignorance of the person saying it, as if that will be the ONE THING that changes us...it won't...so stop...just let us be...we are quite satisfied with the way we choose to live and don't need the proselytizing...keep it for your christian friends...or are they tired of hearing it as well and you just need a new crowd?

Some are, some aren't. Same goes for believers. It's just the differences in the way people are. How we react to various stimuli is one aspect of our personalities.

We aren't. We are just frustrated by the stupidity shown in questions like this: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AiFCi3WMXhdwqmlbbNcOLavd7BR.?qid=20070605035620AAClVo3
I could put more examples just in case that might be satire. But I can't figure out how these people got through high school and we are expected to respond or people might think they have some kind of point.
