There is no one particular reason that leads to Heart attack. It can occur due to several reasons right from constant stress to smoking etc. But the most common technical reason is that one or more arteries pumping blood in and out of your heart gets blocked to a certain degree. Lets say for example 80% blockage of a certain artery. When this happens blood is forced through the little space that is left. Due to this the heart has to pump harder and faster. When this persists for a long period of time, Heart attacks take place.

The heart is a pump relying on electrical impulses from the brain to maintain a rhythm. It is used to pump your blood around through your body so each and every process is attended to If something goes wrong in your body and interferes with blood flow such as a blockage the heart is not being supplied and reacts with a heart attack also if something interferes with the Electrical impulses a heart attack can take place .

blood does not reach the heart muscle causing death/injury of that part of the heart.
