I love being a man and yet at the same time am appalled at the group I belong to. Men today use every means possible to obtain the object of their desires. Women have no value beyond their physical use; sex, cleaning, childcare, cooking, etc. There are many exceptional individuals that defy the stereotypes while continuing to be victimized by them. How can real men stand up and be heard over the peverted squeeling of stereotypical male behavior?

Commenting on the state of things and asking the question why is my way of speaking only for myself, telling no one what to do, and yet sharing of myself. I am pursuing a PhD in clinical psychology. My interest is in the study of human interaction with an eye toward defining a theory of personal responsibility that is universal and indepentent of cultural or religious views. A big bite I know. A life's work even. Thank you for your answers as they represent the things I can't think of myself. Life occurs in relation, might as well know how to make it good.

Seems like an impossible issue to tackle imo. Considering hollywood and television shows help further the image of men as panty raiders and the fact that usually the most vocal of men are the panty raiders, not to mention some leaders (clinton) further portraying men as jigalos, it would seem the odds are well against us. Women know there are a few good apples in every batch and until those people get more attention and a greater female response, the state of man will not change.

You said you love being a man. Your answer is right there. A man will not womanize. The boys you are talking about may think women have no value. They are immature, naive, and don't fall into the category of a man. If you want to stand up against stereotypical "male" behavior, just continue being you and forget about the boys. I knew we as women do. And a woman can tell a respectable man from a childish boy and will cherish that.

Be a good husband, father and lead by example.

Teach your children to have the same values..

Society rarely would highlight such a shinning example when something like Brittney Spears, (or whom ever) would sell more papers and make them more money.... once in awhile society looks for leaders to guide our young men, but I havn't seen anybody on that podium in a long time...

Just stand up for who you are and don't let others' lewd behavoirs and attitudes affect you. Thank God for men like you :). You can't change people, but you can inspire them. Be yourself and serve as an example. If more men like you act according to their conscience and don't let the current social attitudes affect them, perhaps EVENTUALLY there will be change. Don't allow yourself to be dragged down, and women will see your worth. I know it may seem that women always go for the bad boys, but that's not true. You're goodness and ethics will shine through. They did for my bf ;)

Just be who you are and be a good husband/boyfriend to your wife/girlfriend. She will know how lucky she is. I don´t think you can change others, just be an example and make your mate happy.
