While EVERY sexually active human being is at risk for contracting genital herpes, statistics show that people are not equally affected by the disease.

In terms of race and gender, stats (from the NHANES III survey) show that women and black people (especially black women) are most affected by genital herpes.

So if you are white, are you more likely to have herpes than other races? No. But if you are white, you are still very much at risk for getting the infection, so you still have to be cautious.
