Even more, does the fact that Protestant communities and nations are the places where capitalism thrives most have spiritual meaning?

How so?

I wish I had come back to this sooner.

Hong Kong didn't develop capitalism, it's imported. Asians went from a feudal society to a capitalist or socialist (China was never truly communist) society because Westerners, the British usually, brought it with them.

The veracity of the claim? Max Weber, for one. Marx, for another. Locke, for another. One could go on.

The United States is not a secular nation. The United States government is founded on secular principles, but the vast majority is Christian (currently at 84%). Prior to the 60s, that number was well over 90%. A nation is more than its laws; a nation is also its people. Evidence: Marital rape was not considered existent until the 1970s and was not against the law in every state until the 1990s. These laws replaced a biblically based mindset. You can take Christianity out of the Constitution, but you can't take it out of the people.

Capitalism's primary roots are in Britain and Western Europe with legislative roots in the Magna Carta, which was written well before the US was established.

Actually, thats kind of ironic if its true... that christian nations are the ones that form government to promote seperation of wealth and ignoring the impoverished. Capitalism makes rich richer and poor poorer which seems kind of contradictory to the "christian spirit" doesn't it? Or maybe it just happened because christians destroyed all intellectual competition while creating the western world... thus those in power are still in power.

If you asked Jesus Christ to come into your heart and be a part of your life then you are a Christian. Period. That is the bottom line. It does not matter how we feel or what we think we must go by what God says in the Bible ad he says that is Jesus is in your heart then you are a Christian and a part of God's family. You are God's child and will go to heaven when you die. It is best for you to live a clean pure life for many reasons and many benefits but if you mess up Jesus' blood cleanses you from all filthiness in this world and all your mistakes. Going to church and praying doesn't not make someone a Christian any more than sitting in a garage makes you a car. But doing these things is what Christians should do to grow their faith and to have fellowship with other believes of like faith.

Ah, capitalism in one form or another has long pre-existed the "fullness of time", being the Incarnation of Jesus, the Christ.

Just because Adam Smith wrote something down much later doesn't mean the nature of the economic system didn't exist prior to that.

Also, much of Marx's inspiration of communist revolution came from the success of the Protestant Reformation. Even so, socialist systems have existed prior to Christ's birth as well.

So, all in all, I don't see the connection.

The simple answer is: NO

Capitalism is not exclusive to a religion. I do not believe that God only favors the Christians and, therefore, the Christians are the most spiritual people.

I believe that Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Krishna’s, Zorastrism, Baha’ism and all of the other religions which celebrate and recognize the same God are all valid religions and they are all Spiritual.

They all center around the 10 commandments. They all center around loving God. They all center around living good and ethical lives. If you believe in God, they are all right and true religions in that there is one God and he is the same God, regardless of which religion inspires you and helps you with your spiritual growth. Capitalism has nothing to do with it.

Please do not believe that radical extremist (those that we call terrorists) represent true Islam. Many religions have extremists who misinterpret their religion to suit their cause. Most Islamic people are very good people - just like the Christians, Jews, Buddhists ....

There is a deeper significance than most folks understand or are willing to accept.

Why are the "christian" countries primarily the societies of western Europe and the Americas?

The reasons are found on these links, if you really are open to truth:

The United states is a secular nation, and capitalism thrives here. It was also the first nation to guarantee freedom of religion, speech, assembly, ect. to it's citizens...

Gee. Why don't you go to Hong Kong and ask the people there?

Or should I rephrase this in the form of a question:
Is hong kong part of a christian nation?
