Gods, I love that. You get a star! I also love the walking Darwin fish eating the Jesus fish. Christians don't get your panties in a bunch. The fact of the matter is your religion has borrowed many symbols and holidays from us pagans. Christ was not born in December, it was in August! He was crucified in early Summer not spring! Early Christians had to find a way to make conversion easier for those early pagans, so they incorporated our symbols or demonized a few. They adopted our holidays such as Samhan, Yule, and Spring equinox. Your roots are in Druid lore. The Catholic preisthood is linked to the Druids. Nuns are linked to Wicca. We are all the same no matter what we worship or not worship. Even science has links to pagans. We all try to find the underlying truth.

I don't name it a "Jesus fish" however suppose there is going yet another pretentious man or woman in need of individuals to suppose they're so pious and so well. Hypocrites do that to seem greater than they're. You see those autos with the logo on them they usually quite often are breaking the legislation of the land, like rushing, wrong lane alterations and no signs. These individuals look to suppose they possess the roads and the whole thing else. PS: I am a Christian and try to comply with the Word of God. There is not any risk-free historical past that claims this used to be a mystery image for Christians. The early fathers didn't write approximately it within the one hundred's, 2 hundred's or three hundred's.

The reason most commonly given for the use of the Fish Symbol in Christianity is:
In the years following the ascension of the resurrected Jesus to heaven, the Christian church grew rapidly.
Christians soon found themselves to be the subjects of persecution by both the Romans and the Jews.
In many locales, it became dangerous to be known as a Christian.
Thus, when two strangers met and thought maybe they were fellow believers, one of them would draw, on the ground, the upper half of the fish symbol.
Recognizing the symbol, the stranger would add a second curved line and complete the drawing of a fish.
It is a very simple shape to draw - just two curved strokes. It could be drawn quickly, and erased just as quickly if there was no sign of recognition on the part of the stranger.
They would also show the symbol by one cupping one hand as if holding something and in reply the second would reverse the cup with his hand. This would indicate the fish symbol when done.
Not everything was done simply because it had a pagan tradition.

the symbol has ancient roots!
The Kemites Pharaonic dynasties began in the Age of the Bull [circa 4241/4245 BCE], making Bull symbols and deities, Ptah and Yusir the dominant symbols of that age. When the spring equinox moved into the preceding age, that of the Ram [c 2200 BCE], Ram deity Amen and his city Waset [Thebes] dominated Kemetic cultural life. This was the age when the Hebrew appeared in history and, as the Old Testament shows, ram and lamb and shepherd imagery permeated their symbolic life. When the spring equinox moved into the Piscean Age [Fishes] - c. 68 BCE, the people of the lower Nile observed fish symbolism and it was within two centuries that Christianity, complete with fish symbols [note that the disciples were said to be fishermen] began its run.

Its to painful for me to tolerate. So is the cross, Christmas Easter All saints day lent and a whole host of pagan nonsense that have infected the "Christian" church. Dagon worshipers. Ashtoreth worshipers. Mithra's worshipers
Millie dear - Type Star of Rephan into you search engine then tell me if you still feel the same about the Star of David. Also check out Acts 7:43
sonofmary - I just can't let your untruths go by. Your post is so arrogant and you really are a clueless idiot. How do you figure the crucifiction took place in early summer you half brained dimwit when the evidence is that it was early spring at passover? How do you come up with an august birth? I agree it was not december 25th but obviously you have no idea how to actually work a hebrew calendar or actually how to count or cross referance a bible to find out the truth. Please don't just repeat lies you read from whatever anti christian website your getting your talking points. Parrots are only cute for a little while then they just become annoying chickens.

The truth is that all of the symbols used by Christians today are tainted by pagan roots. The use of symbols can be perverted from its original meanings and often are. I prefer to practice my Christianity without symbols like crosses or fishes.

What's your point? just because a symbol of any kind has a pagan origin doesnt mean that it means the same for everyone. I wear a Star of David and I'm not Jewish, I've never been Jewish, I wear it because I just like it, it's beautiful. I cannot care less what's it's origin, everything has an origin of some kind, who cares...

the fish sybol has IX8IS in it in Greek letters.....
They stand for teh following:
Letter - Greek(in english letters) - English translation
I - Isous - Jesus
X - Xristos - Christ
8 - 8eou - God's
I - Ios - Son
S - Sotiras - the Savour
Thus the letters spell out "Jesus christ, god's son the saviour"
the letters also spell out an acronym in Greek IX8IS spells "Fish"... and that is why the fish logo sorounds the acronym.
The truth is Christianity is the Jewish idea of faith combined with Greek Philosophy and Greek religious traditions (the Mysteries).. this is no secret.. and this is no shame.....Christ'smessage was simple and was adopted by teh Greeks first and translated to the rest of the world via their culture...

So? Your point? The old is done away with and it's now a symbol of Christianity. This matters not.
BTW..the symbal for Peace also has a "bad" history. No longer.

Yeah this is random but I heard that Christmas was actually picked to be in December so the church could combat a pagan holiday (Yule).
Baby Jesus was born in the summer.
