The ability to blind a person to his ego failing with praise, and then to service his growing weakness and "save" him from guilt with false affection-this is the instrument of power for those who are sufficiently ruthless to use it. And this is the power that corrupts the corrupter absolutely

No matter how hard a person might try to grab and hang onto the short end of the stick, to abase himself and reverse the power paradox, he can not do so. He will emerge dominant. The veriest coward is a tyrant in secret !
The battered wife is typeical of a woman trying to make herself small and non-threatening out of fear of becoming like the person she most resents, her mean domineering father. You might say that the ploy has backfired in her case; yet she remains the one in power, the one pushing the buttons, his buttons.

Do you agree, why and shy not ?

I am not sure what you are asking, but the Catholic Church has always taught, "To rule is to serve."

"Whoever would be great among you must be your servant." (Matthew 20:26)

Jesus showed this humility of service by washing the apostles' feet at the last supper.

Likewise during the Holy Thursday Mass, every Catholic priest in the world, from the newly ordained to the Pope, washes the feet of the people they serve.

With love in Christ.
