But Nostradamus, we can't tell that side of the story. we have to talk about happy things like how many schools we've built thus far.

Jeepers, that makes no sense what so ever. We entered WWII in Dec of 1941 by Novemeber of 42 We were fighting the Germans in North Africa. It does not take Divisional training to get Iraqi soldiers at the squad and platoon level to hold and control streets in Baghdad and not retreat or get overrun.

You are part of the problem of why we are losing this war, making excuses for incompetence and a lack of guts and motivation on the field of battle will never turn things around in Iraq.

These society's have had arranged marriages for centuries. One brother's son would always marry another brothers daugther. Many of this society will NOT be able to be as fast paced as we would like them to be for a few more generations. That is why this war on terrorism will just be finding a conclusion with our great-grandchildren. Presently we have a generation of CHILDREN and WOMEN that WANT to be a suicide bomber. Scary reality?

Because people tend to think of just the time it takes someone to go thru boot.

But they don't realize, we also have to train the sgt's, the platoon sgt's, the platoon leaders, the company commanders, battalion commanders, etc.

Then we have to train them how to function as a unit from squad to platoon to company to battalion level.

During WW ll , it took an average of 2 1/2 years to train a new American Division.

And that was starting with a core of experienced soldiers to build around.

what we are not being told about this story speaks volumes to what is happening.

most likely, the iraqi army is in fact, a bunch of terrorists who only join the army to get the clothes and food and make bombs to try to kill our guys by night.

if the army told even half of this story, the entire nation would demand an immediate exit from iraq.

nothing speaks to how little they want america there - even the army is rife with people who don't want us there.

i feel really badly for our own army - they must feel very alone in that desolate, far away place...

Thank God you're not in the military or we'd have lost this skirmish instead of having won it.
