I am going to be in the airforce and haven't picked my jobs yet. I scored high enough to pick any job I want. What are some of the better jobs in the airforce you recommend???

It all depends on what you want the Air Force to do for you. Are you joining for just a 4-6year enlistment? Or are you planning to make a career out of the military? This is important because if you are only joining to get some college done then choose a job in services or any kind of desk job or paper pusher. They have those jobs in any category, even hospitals. There are plenty of day shift jobs to choose from. (DO NOT choose a mechanical or flightline job or anything that is related to the jets. You wont have time to do your job and school)
If you are choosing to join for a career then choose a job that is interesting for you. Try something fun or different. For example, my job is 2w1x1. I load weapons on the F-15E and do mechanical and electrical work on the jet. It's a great job and it's something unique that I could never get to do as a civilian, but the thing is that the skills are not ones that transfer to a civilian job if I were to get out of the military.
So, basically I'm saying choose what YOU are interested in and what will benifit you in the end.
Good luck!

You go girl! The Air force is service to your country as is any branch and for that I am grateful and proud of you. I just retired from the Marines and my brethren in the other branches made me proud to serve with them, so forgo the cheap shots about branches and serve your country proudly.
Having retired, and now in the civilian sector, I was blessed being in Electronics and the job transfers well to the civilian community. Another Hot job is Air Traffic Controller and you can take that to almost any City of any size so you won't be restricted where you live once you get out. Supply and logistics are also transferable to the civilian sector. Just beware of the jobs that don't transfer well, small missile tech is one that comes to mind.

You know, being a former Marine, I don't even think I'd recommend the Air Force. However, I do agree somewhat with the first answer you got on this subject.
The Navy is the way to go if you are intelligent, and wish to learn. Marines are smart, as well, required to think quick, and do what is right, however the Navy is more on the education side of things. You should really consider a different branch of service than the Air Force, unless it is for family posterity that you are joining.
Now, I do not have a negative feeling about any person who chooses to do their part and serve for any one of the branches of the military, even the Air Force, it is just the ingrained brain-washing that I allowed to happen that keeps me from being pro-Air Force. I apologize to any "airmen" who may read what I said as an insult. It's merely the way I was trained while I was in the 'Corps.

Just like being a civilian, the most important thing is to pick a field in which you are interested, although you might have to do research to look at some you might not ordinarily look at. Take an interest test to see where you might likely fit best. Just because you are a woman doesn't mean you can't do as well as or better than men in any technical field so don't limit yourself to office jobs. Having been both, I think it is preferable to be an officer than an enlisted person, especially if you plan on making it a career and retiring.
whatever you do, it can be a very rewarding part of your life. Good luck

I'm sorry you are joining the air force!!! But if you actually want to work and go places, go O-level airwing. You'll work on cool planes, travel alot and have more fun. This is pretty much universal for all services ( I was Marine Corps). Everyone calls it "swinging with the wing" and in some ways it's pretty true. They tend to be more lax on stupid stuff like uniform inspections, and dog and pony shows. That can be a big plus!!! It's just more fun in the airwing.

I would go to logistics. In the Logisitic Readiness Squadron you can work with fuels, mechanics/vehicles, deployment center, parts (for the planes), and other things. It's very varied and the biggest support system for the base. If you are not into fuels or mechanics, do the deployment center. You would be helping/managing the deployment process for the base.
Other good fields: Intelligence (although you won't be able to talk about work at home depending on the job) or Communications (computer stuff)

Depends / i went in under Open Electronics cause that was my high test score / was able to switch to Engineering Apprentice (3E5X1) (Civil Engineering) down in Basic Training (because i had the college degree in that area) where i spent 10 years untill i seperated from active duty. The Air Force will help you narrow down your choices at the MEPS and also do additional testing at Basic Training to see if you qualify in what you want to do for the next several years. Technical School was having all 4 services combined at one schoolhouse for 12 plus weeks. There is also Career Development Courses (CDC's) in your chosen field when you get to your 1st duty assignment.
Big Question is? what type of stuff do you enjoy doing that you can picture yourself doing for at least 4 years or more that the Military has jobs doing?

No, that is not entirely correct. You will take the ASVAB and your score will determine what jobs your are eligible for. Essentially the recruiter will present you with a list of jobs and you will pick from that. Just make sure that everything is written in your contract before you sign it.

Flight medic, I retired as a flight Nurse out of the Air Force and I can tell you we had a ball. Sure we worked hard on missions, but we had down time in great locations around the world!
