It depends on the religion.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church currently states:

The Lord Jesus chose men to form the college of the twelve apostles, and the apostles did the same when they chose collaborators to succeed them in their ministry.

The Church recognizes herself to be bound by this choice made by the Lord himself. For this reason the ordination of women is not possible.

With love in Christ.

Personally I do not think women can lead the church... not to say anything about women (I am one). But if you look at Genesis you'll see God put women on earth to be man's helper. No other books of the Bible stand out for this to me right now. Also the man is the head of the home, though this does not mean that women are less importuned. God took for Himself the roll of man by sending His Son Jesus. God is nether man nor women but for us he made Himself 'man'. I do have to say though that I'm happy that you would like to spend your life working for God. I'll be praying for you.
Sincerely, A Sister in Christ Jesus.
