It sure can. People get depressed and teed off because they have to follow a regimen of what they can eat, and what they can't.

I am sure diabetes plays a big roll. If she hasn't eaten she could be irritable. Be patient ask her questions, like have your eaten, does she take meds? or shots? That might be the reason. Talk to her mom maybe something is going on in her life??? At home???? Be a good friend you might need one when you have problems. Maybe she's upset that she has this disease. It is really SERIOUS!!!! My grandma died from complications of diabetes she was old when it happened. BUT remember think about how she feels.

The only way it would effect her personality where it would be totally at fault and not her is if her glucose level dropped and she needed to eat to increase it to a normal level. This is common with hypoglycemia - low glucose level. Otherwise, she might simply be bitter about her condition and needs to learn to deal with it and not take it out on others, Being diabetic may not be easy - but we all have life changed we have to deal with.

If your blood sugar is off it can affect moods and make you "cranky" if she is blaming it on her diabetes, then the next time she says that then tell her she had better get her blood sugar under control if she knows it is the problem!

Yes, but it shouldn't be used as an excuse! She needs to have a better doctor who takes the time to help her get regulated.
