i have heard it said that time is an illusion- that in the world of the Absolute it does not exist and that everyhting is happening all at once- but this is a very hard concept to wrap your mind around, if this is so- then from the perspective of being outside of time you would see all that is right now
i have also heard it said that the soul energy that incarnated as Jesus Christ has incarnated as other beings, and possibly was the same energy that incarnated as the Buddha 500 years before, and has come back since-
there are many Buddhas besides the Gautama Buddha, just like the Dali Lama reincarnating over and over again
it's a cool concept to ponder- who knows

There is more to this Sunman. IMO.
I don't believe that the implications are for everyone. Is science closing in on this special reality? I hope and pray that good and evil will be transcended here, but those are just my hopes. Either that... or perhaps we will be stopped from pursuing it any further as collective knowledge. I often think that some things should remain in the domain of the mystics.
I have always believed that S.Buddha and the great teacher Jesus of Nazareth, would have been dear friends. Both believed in the equality of men and women, of all people. IMO. Though at various points their teachings reflect the old ideas of their respective cultural...'timeline'.
These were the people they were speaking to and others of their time that did not nescessarilly share these higher values. They both brought their students along to a higher reality...those who could hear them. Not all would hear them and that was the problem. It remains an issue in need of correction in ways that everyone can accept. It has been a great tragedy especially in regards to Christianity.
I love and respect both of these people. Though I hate Christianity with a passion because of all the cruelty that has been in its name, only a small few show true light and frankly not all Buddhism is as enlightened as it could be. I sound so terribly arrogant don't I? I don't care! I think you know that is not how I come to say these things don't you?Or maybe I am just another lunatic.
Maybe you should ask, there are those who will guide you if they feel it is right to do so. They can see the bigger picture. You had an experience?
Why is this important to you?Do you see Jesus as God? I don't...I understood him to say we are all children of god. That makes him one of many sons and daughters. It's just that some are like the Creators servents, tuning forks, eyes through human experience...so why is this important? Or is this just a question, one of many?Is there a hierarchy? All of this, sacred?Layers.
Peace and love,
Jamie

It's all about levels, isn't it.
At the level of the body and the intellect we are located in time and therefore separate from each other in time and space. While we experience ourselves on this level we can only make intellectual constructs about timelessness and the eternal 'Now'. We can't actually know it.
At a slightly more subtle level we are all connected through The Field. (See Lynne McTaggart).
Then there is a field in which we are all connected intuitively. You know who's calling before you answer the phone, you know there has been an argument between two people even without hearing it. And a new and interesting phenomenon I've noticed. You can connect emotionally to someone you've never met through the internet. There are people on here that I can say I love.
At the soul level, I think, we are amphibians. We are aware of existing both inside time and in the Now
At all these levels we appear separate and existing in time. We can talk about them and understand them.
Then we come, as I understand it to the level of the Eternal, Brahm, God, It. At this level there is the One And Only.
Buddha does not communicate with Jesus because Buddha is not separate from Jesus.
The One And Only is the canvas upon which we are all painted. One! The One who knows that time is a joke, made by us to confuse ourselves.
This is the level at which, if there were the tiniest separation between us, in time or in space, the universe could not exist.
It is possible to experience that level diectly, or I should say, to notice it, because in truth the rest is but a dream. Some on this site have done so. As yet, I haven't. I yearn for the day.

I see time as a saucer rather than a line - but that doesn't make it any easier to "transcend". Written language, and oral transference, allows people of different generations and places to know of each other, and of ideas. It's possible, or even probable, that Buddhism which was so powerful and extensive through India etc and connected trade routes, could have influenced religious ideas around the Mediterannean. Certainly there are many influences traceable in the so-called Abrahamic religions including Christianity. I think it is a pity Buddhism has not influenced the so-called West a great deal more than it has ... but I'm confident it will, because, stripped of the unnecessary supernaturals used for early training, it makes more sense than anything else and promotes the growth of humanity rather than restriction and mindless conflict.

Sometimes imagine the Buddha and the Christed One still having tea somewhere in between of time, in a place where shadows don't fall. And you know what I think they may be discussing: compassion and love. For Buddha, love was the stumbling block. He didn't understand that if you add love to the equation, suffering can be transcended and life everlasting would not be a burden anymore.

I am convinced that God (who called Himself I AM THAT I AM) transcends time.
He can act in the past, present and/or future at will. When he acts 'now' it affects the past, present and future. Out normal 'cause and effect' thinking does not bind him.
I have a feeling - just my own, not from God - that Jesus and Buddha have met and talked (in some way). But I also bellieve that Buddha was/is/will be always time-limited, as he is mortal and not God.
When He chooses, God can and does enlighten people with messages about the past, presetn and future that those people could not otherwise know - some call this prophecy, some call it words of knowledge (see I Cor 14).
Interesting question. Thanks for asking!

Since time seems to be an illusion, so does separateness. As we become more awake/aware we begin to experience oneness to a degree. We then know the truths as taught by Jesus and Buddha and many others, not because they were taught but because we too are aware of our connectedness to Source.
To ask if Jesus and Buddha may have communicated seems to belabor the idea that separateness is reality when it appears to be the illusion. One might ponder their own connectedness to the great avatars as an exercise of whether individuals have the capacity of communication.

Of course it's possible, but you have to view it from a point outside of your mind, the mind needs time and space in order to work, if you can transcend your own mind you can transcend time and experience a reality where all events take place at one time. In that reality Christ and Buddha would exist simultaneously.

Here's what I think. I think that this existence allows for a vast variety of educational opportunities for soul beings, such as ourselves. I think that we can choose when and where we incarnate and I don't think that time is an issue - sort of like Dr. Who, everything is happening all the time, you just need to know how to get there.
I think that when we are in our spirit existence we all communicate easily and effortlessly - and I think everyone is on a sort of first name basis in our natural existence, due to the nature of cohabitating energy beings.
The implications, to my mind, are that the rules we have learned are not necessarily correct - or at least, all there is. We need to remember that truly anything is possible and we need to remember our own divinity and part in the creative process. We need to remember that we ourselves transcend space and time and what we are dealing with in the physical plane is but one facet of our soul, or ourselves.
What do you think?
Peace!

Wow, this is such an amazing question, and I would normally go into a nice long answer, but I think EVERYONE before me has hit the nail on the head with this...
So I will answer this question with another question....
How many more names can we give to the same source of being?
This is why I tell people I am Romeo and Juliet when it comes to names... A rose by any other name would smell as sweet!
Peace & Love!
