Try hard not to worry too much until you see the doctor. You can do your own research on the internet about serving sizes and carbohydrate counting - the American Diabetes Association is a great resource. You'll want to meet with a Diabetes Counselor who will assist you with meal planning and suggest a proper diet for you - your doctor will help you find one.
My best advice to you in the next week or so is to cut out sugary drinks including all juices and eat more vegetables - except potatoes, sweet potatoes/yams, peas, beans (like pinto or kidney beans) and corn. Imagine your dinner plate divided into four sections like a pie. One section can be your carbohydrates - rice, pasta, starchy veg or bread. One section should be your meat (prep as simply as possible to avoid hidden carbs - grilled chicken, steak, pork chop or some slices of turkey. The final half of your plate should be vegetables or salad.
You can also start drinking extra water and getting some exercise every day. If you must eat something "sweet" go for a piece of fruit like an apple or a pear or one or two small pieces of chocolate. Your life isn't over, it's just changed.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.
Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

First thing, relax. The dr will probably order a meeting with a dietician to explain what to eat and when ~ BEST to eat small meals, more often ~ Diabetes association on the internet can offer menus, and help with that ~ Diabetes can be controlled for the most part ~ AND there are many many many people living with it ~
Dont be scared ~ walking is a good exercise ~ have some mobility istead of sitting ~ Everything should be explained to you ~ do some homework online ~ and make a list of questions to take with you~ be informed ~ Your going to be fine!! ~ huge hugs~
Some of the foods to be careful with is one, baked goods! All the goodies ~
Be careful eating bagels, pizza, potatoes, pasta, breads, white rice ~ corn ~ peas ~ sweet potatoes, ~ Carbs for the most part affect diabetes. Increase in sugars ~ Some are fast acting and affect your diabetes rapidly. Dosnt mean you cant have them ~ but they should be occasionally eaten ~ Meat (protein) is usually 3 oz at lunch, and 3 oz at dinner ~ eat fresh healthy veggies ~

Relax, and breath a little, its totally controllable and although it might mean a few changes in your current live style its nothing you can't do. You will have to give up quite a few things like starch and cane sugar, but you will get through it, depending on your stage of diabetes, you might not even be that bad, besides I know a few diabetic people and one thing I've always been envious off is the fact that those that weren't already healthy, lost a few of their excess pounds and live a very healthy life now.

I was diagnosed last september and it was hard to start with but im lucky my doctor was a diabetic consultant at the local hospital so i have good support, it was scary to start with i was advised to cut out cakes, sweets and biscuits basically anything sugary which after so many years was hard but it does get easier it will of course depend if you take tablets or insulin to how bad it is once you get in with the doctor you should get all the support and advice you need and like people have said dont be afraid to ask, pickup leaflets and such like as this should help you understand it better.
Good luck x

Many common natural remedies are claimed to have blood sugar lowering properties that make them useful for people with or at high risk of diabetes. Learn here https://tr.im/VSmAq
A number of clinical studies have been carried out in recent years that show potential links between herbal therapies and improved blood glucose control, which has led to an increase in people with diabetes using these more 'natural' ingredients to help manage their condition.

if it is type 2 diabetes and you can control it with diet/exercise/ and oral meds then you will find it reasonably easy to transition to a lifestyle you can live with. Many people live normal lives with only moderate dietary restrictions. your doctor will go over all this with you. Dont worry, it isnt a death sentence. In fact, if you are heavy and out of shape, slimming down and exercising is often enough to get your body in shape enough where the pancreas can handle your newly slimmed down body and you wont even need to take meds. So not to worry, just become informed,
