I don't think anybody is bent on harming animals. People eat to survive, and maintain a healthy diet. We also don't fall for anthropomorphisms. We don't watch Disney as much

I suppose i am an oddity, a vegetarian who supports the seal hunt. I'm mixed native/white so it's more of a cultural issue for me than an animal rights issue.

I was vegetarian for a while but despite being very vigilent about the amount of nutrition I was receiving it just didn't agree with my body e.g. my skin, erm - sexual matters, menstrual matters. If I don't get regular red meat in my body it just doesn't function properly.
I do make an effort to buy humanely reared meat and I only believe animal testing should be used as a last resort for medical research.
But as far as I'm concerned we're top of the food chain and bloody steak and cheese burgers rock. From what I believe, even vegetarians end up killing very small animals in their pursuit of meat e.g. insects and tiny organisms on vegetables. And what happens if you get headlice or dustmites - are you going to live with it? No, your going to kill the mothers.
And animals are made of meat, aren't they.
How do we know your not vegetarian because you want to kill vegetables?

I do not think they are causing any harm to you. You are a vegetarian, good for you , if others are not, let them be what they want to be .

In a way, yes, those people (the farmers) have invested their life savings on raising those animals so that they could slaughter them and sell their meat.
As long as people are still eating meat more cows and other animals will be slaughtered...the key is in making people stop eating meat

well... i used to live in CA and i personally knew three people who were veggies. One was my herbalist, one was the mother of one of my children's friends and one was a mother whose child went to school with one of my children. Want to know the relevance?
The first one, my herbalist, told me that she had suffered Thyroid cancer. She discovered that there are 6 amino acids that the human body cannot produce and must instead obtain from the consumption of 4-6 ounces of ANIMAL protien each day. After she gave up her obviously incorrect vegetarian diet, she had a remission. Mm......get the point? she was, by the way, one of the most prominent and well respected herbalists in SF.
OK...second. The mother of one of my children's school friends. Was flaming veggie for 25 years. The result? Cancer, the cure? started eating meat and had a remission.
OK...we are on a roll now (and not neccesarily a whole grain one either).
Third? She is originally from Khazakstan. She grew up in a Yurt on the Khazak plains. She grew up eating goat meat. Decided to become a veggie after she was indoctrinated into the CA fruit and nut culture. Result? Bone loss in her jaw, loss of brain function and lowered immune system. Mmm..lowered immune system? sounds like the beginning of cancer.
What did she finally do? She started eating meat again.
Personally, if you decide you can't stomach meat, go for it. Eventually, you will breed yourself out of existence and for the rest of us, the problem solves itselt.
Oh..and for me? I have a rare genetic disorder. How do I survive? I eat copious amounts of meat, per my doctors orders.
Get off your high horse. You don have seven stomaches, nor three (in case you don't know this, cows and goats in order) and you do, in fact, have incisors. There is a reason for this. You are biologically designed to eat meat.
