Deep Fried Mars Bars:
10 min 5 min prep
1 deep fried mars bar
1 Mars bar or Milky Way bar
1 cup plain flour
1/2 cup cornflour
1 pinch baking soda
milk or beer
oil (for deep frying)
1. Chill the chocolate bar by keeping it in the fridge, but don't freeze it.
2. Mix the flours and bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) together.
3. Add milk (traditional) or beer (which gives a lighter result) until you get a batter with the consistency of thin cream.
4. Heat the oil until a small piece of bread will brown in a few seconds, but don't allow to smoke.
5. Remove wrapper from chilled chocolate bar.
6. Coat completely in batter.
7. Carefully lower into hot oil and fry until golden brown.
8. Serve, with ice cream or french fries, if you're so inclined.

Hi!
I lived in the South of England and they did a deep fried Mars Bar in the fish and chip shop of my village. I ate one and oh my God is it rich, not for the faint hearted. I know that its extremely calorific and caused a health scandal in this country because of it. Try the local fish and chip shop I suppose because alot of them do it. My local one even did deep fried Snickers.
Have a good time anyway x

I first had them at a fish n' chips place in Edinburgh. That same year, I was pleasantly surprised to see vendors at our state fair selling them, along with deep fried Twinkies and Snickers. Last year, I found them at a stand in Cornwall.
They are sooooooo good!!!!

Go to any outdoor festival this summer and I guarantee there will be a food vendor selling every kind of deep-fried candy bar imaginable.

You can go to any fish n chip shop really and u'll probably find em, if they don't sell them at a place by you, you can take one in and ask them to deep fry it for you!
Yummmmmmm but not too good for you! In scotland they also have deep fried pizza! not my taste but for others it is!
