can the dna of any disease be changed to create a cure.if so,it would possibly rid the world of all known diseases and as a result create longer lives, which would lead to an over populated planet.however if you can shift the dna on mars to emulate the earths dna ,it would make mars habitable.,would'nt you agree?

No I don't agree. You are either being silly, or you need to pay more attention in science class.

I wish the DNA of the aids virus could be changed to create a cure for aids, but I am sure it is not that simple or we would have been right on that.

And how can you shift the DNA of a planet? Only living things have DNA the building block of inanimate objects like planets is molecules.

No. HIV does not have DNA. It is a retrovirus, which means that it only has RNA. That being said, once the virus infects a CD4 cell and produces replicas, the RNA in the new viruses are part of the original and part of the host, thus making them an entirely new strain. This is why it is so hard to come up with a vaccine.

The current medications for HIV/AIDS interrupt various reproductive processes to prevent the virus from making any more, but they won't totally eliminate it.

However, there is a mutated gene (CCR-5 delta 32) found in some humans, which may make them immune to HIV and other viruses by altering the shape of the host cell receptor the virus binds on to to get hold of the cell in the first place. Research is currently ongoing in this area. If that mutation could be induced in somebody who had HIV/AIDS, the CD4 cells, which the virus targets, would become immune to the virus, because the virus would be unable to latch on to it. So, really, your question isn't too far off. Instead of changing the genetics of the virus, we change the genetics of the host.

Cool, huh?

there is not any treatment for HIV, the virus that can bring about AIDS. cures can help people who're HIV+ stay longer, fit than they might interior the previous, however the cures have ingredient outcomes. between the key motives there is not any treatment for HIV is that the virus mutates so commonly and so at once. A vaccine or specific therapy would be effectual in killing one mutation, yet no longer others.
