Yes. They can go away with or without medication. Of course they go away a lot sooner with medication though.

Even though the sores physically go away that doesn't mean the virus is gone. There is no cure for herpes. Once a person contracts the virus, they have it for life.

The longer the person has the virus, typically the less outbreaks they get. I have had genital herpes for over 6 years now and my last outbreak was over 2 years ago.

Herpes is never treated. But you can get medication so the bumps will got away. For a while. They come and go whenever they want.

You must see a doc on a regular basis from now on. The bumps can be treated. However, there is no cure for Herpes - it will never go away but must be controlled as best as the medical profession can do for now.

Wear a condom when having sex so as not to spread your STD to others.

Theres meds. calm them down but Herpes is permanant.
