Do it, go out and camp. There are so many things we don't do because we are held back by fears of what if. Fears of what if have driven the gasoline prices so high, but that's a conversation for a later time. Go to a park or campsite that is busy and that you would register when you enter. If you don't go camping, what will you do? Watch TV or participate is some sports activities. Get out there, get some new experiences, enjoy nature. Then you will have some great stories to tell your friends.

You should go!
Pros Being one with nature, Peace, solitude, having a relaxing time with just you & your inner self.
Cons There is always a danger involved with doing most anything alone. But what is more dangerous? Camping alone in the wilderness? or going to the mall in broad daylight?
Let someone know where you will be camping & when you plan to return. Your route to and from as well. DO NOT waiver from the info you gave to your friend/family member.
A cell phone would come in handy too.

I camped alone off and on for 3 months and hiked at 20 national parks. I gave someone my plans and called them regularly (set intervals). I stayed by families and got to know the women of the families, and let the women know I appreciated having their family nearby. If men asked about me, I said my friends were coming soon (of course, they never did). I wouldn't rely on park rangers, unless they're women, since the only time I was hassled was by a male national park ranger! I had mace with me, and hiked with a very sturdy hiking stick, so I felt pretty safe. But if I had ever felt threatened, I'd get in my car and leave-I could have always come back during day light and got my stuff.
Have fun!

Depends on your comfort level. I am 58, single and retired. I go camping by myself for 6 months out of the year. I have seen many others like myself, camping alone, of all ages and both genders. There is some level of risk. You can minimize the risk by sticking to crowded spaces. A bunch of neighbors close by helps.

By all means, go camping by yourself, if you are going to be in a safe environment.
Pros are: peace and quiet, ability to do what you want and when you want, no one else to get an opinion from.
Cons are: safety issues unless you are in a secure setting, if there is such a thing! Boredom........take a book along.
Let someone, responsible, know exactly where you are going and when you plan to return. Check in with each other on a regular basis during your trip...........cell phone??

Camping by yourself may possibly get lonely if you're not used to being alone, but if you are...it will be so peaceful. The best way to really enjoy nature is when no one else is around. You should go.

Camping alone can be great fun if you are the type of person who likes to get off by yourself sometimes to collect your thoughts.I assume you are a woman. It can be dangerous! I suggest a gun and a rottweiler to go with (or at least a gun).

If you are going to a campground where there will be others, has a campground host or that is patrolled by rangers or local police/ sheriff you should be OK. Carry a big stick keep it close by at night don't be afraid to use it then ask questions.

go by yourself. i do it all the time. of course, i am a fairly burly mid forties guy. but, even then, i still bring a pistol and i always let someone know where i am, just in case i am injured.
enjoy the quiet and sit around the fire. not too many things are as relaxing.
