If you have genital herpes then it won't spread by kissing someone.

Cold sores can spread by kissing someone, but not genital herpes.

Genital herpes is spread by sex (vaginal, oral, and anal) and by DIRECT skin to skin contact with the infected area.

Follow up question:

If I've fingered a girl who has genital herpes, how likely am I to contract it? and what would I have? Could it spread to my genital area?

Also, if she has genital herpes and gave me oral sex, am I at a risk of contracting it?

Thanks.

Yes you can kiss someone who doesn't have genital herpes. You said you have GENITAL herpes not herpes in the mouth area.

Genital herpes cannot be transmitted through a kiss...don't worry about it.
